We went to dinner last week and had a wonderful meal. I thought it was good until we went for lunch yesterday and had one of the best meals - the three stand outs of the table were the pot pie, quiche lorraine and the croque monsieur - truly had to say which was the best. Oh and the chai... more

After making reservations via phone a week prior to our visit to Traverse City we were shocked when we were not in the Amical reservation book. We were told we may have to wait 45 minutes so we grabbed a spot at the bar to wait it out. After only 5 minutes we were told our table by the fireplace... more

One of the best meals I have every had. Superb service, ambiance and the food was wonderful! Choose a local wine to go with your meal. You won't be sorry. more

I feel the options on the menu were OK...was expecting more french bistro but they sort of had a bit of everything (southwestern crab tower, ahi tuni, caprese salad?). I had the chicken and spinach cavatappi (french?) which was kind of boring. My husband had the duck and that was his favorite meal in traverse city. We did sit outside... more

Overall I thought Amical was a wonderful experience. My husband and I skipped the appetizers to make room for dessert. My mustard-brined pork with the goat cheese grit cake was to die for. His blackened grouper was about the best he's ever had (although I thought the soy in the reduction was just a tiny bit too much). Our server... more

We wanted to go to Red Ginger but found it closed on Mondays so we went to Amical instead. The restaurant is small and the service was a bit slow. Our waiter seemed a bit disinterested. Our food was good but not great. The prices were very high. more

Went last night with my husband and had an incredible dinner. Started with the tomato soup with puff pastry top, it is really big enough for two. Nut encrusted whitefish was a huge portion served with pilaf and green beans. My husband had the lamb with a lavender and honey sauce which was excellent. Huge dessert menu but we were... more

I would be probably the only person who would complain about the place... but... When we walked in, we have to wait 10 min before somebody adressed us!!! The place was almost empty & 2 hostesses were on the phone talking personal business, looking right into my face. It was little before 3 o'clock & i asked if we can... more

Amical was a series of ups and downs and overall disappointed. My wife had eaten here in 2000 and thought it right out of France ot so this time. We were greeted appropriately and set a a wonder ful table. Wine selction was great-bread hot and butter soft so far an up. Then the appetizers one great and one not.... more

From the sidewalk cafe tables to the long, narrow dining room and open kitchen, the Amical reminded me of a wonderful Greenwich Village restaurant. Except squeaky clean and with a gentler vibe. It's a real treasure in downtown Traverse City. My husband and I are new to the community and were looking for a place for a special night out... more
