Highly recommend, best food we had. Long wait but worth it. Decorating is very dated but food more than makes up for it. Go early, wait might not be so long.

I've been coming in for years and the staff and food is great. It is sad to see Carrie moving on as she was a staple of their bar service. Look forward to seeing her at Nolans cigar lounge!

Awesome steaks! A quarter head of lettuce WITH home made dressing. The blue cheese is to die for! Found this place about 15 years ago and continue to eat there when we are in the area. Small quaint and friendly staff! Get there early as they fill up!

After reading other reviews, my husband and I decided to eat a late dinner here. I loved the iceberg lettuce with the best bleu cheese dressing I have had in a long long time. I could not finish it, though as it truly was a quarter of a head of lettuce. I had a 12 oz strip steak, medium, with... More

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel as having the best prime rib in town. The 12 oz prime was tender, juicy and seasoned great.

On one of our frequent trips up into the great white north here in Michigan we decided to make a side trip to Traverse City in search of a steak. Using Google as our guide we came across what appeared to be a local favorite--Mode's Bum Steer. First Impressions... It's basically a bar. Simple setup. Nothing fancy... My kinda place!... More

While in Traverse City ofor work, I decided to treat myself to a good steak. I had been to Modes over 10 years ago and remembered that it was great place for steak. They did not disappoint. The filet melted in my mouth and was cooked perfect. Highly recommend this to everyone who likes great food and great service.

Dated interior but kinda cool, the bucket chairs on wheels reminds me of '70's. waitresses are excellent if not a little loud; Steak and perch to die for. Always have the New York strip and wife has filet. Perfectly prepared every time Visit this place 8-10 times per year while "Up North". If you want beef, this is it!!

The restaurant is rather old on the inside, but it's a cozy atmosphere and reasonably priced food. We went on the weekend and there was a salad bar that came with dinner. This was nice since it's hard to eat vegetables when you're out of town. I eat GF and DF so had grilled chicken and a baked potato on... More

This place seems to be a local favorite from the reviews, and was recommended to us by a local. I found the prices to be well above average, where the selections were about average, as was the service. Nothing special here.
