Surprised it was so good.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was seeing as I had never had Middle Eastern Food. The restaurant is small but you seem not to notice as it is very nice inside. The food is GREAT. My wife is Vegan and she loved her food. I am a meat eater and I loved my food as well.... read more

This is my favorite restaurant in TC for reasonably priced excellent food. Love the at Adam sandwich with falafel and roasted vegetables. Never had eggplant taste so sweet! The combination of flavors is excellent. And the side fattoush is refreshing, crispy and delicious. Best spot for vegan!

Best man at our wedding has travelled extensively, including numerous trips to Turkey and the Middle East. He said they make the best hummus he has ever eaten... he could not believe how good the food is at Zakeys. Belly dancer many a Friday evening, too.

The restaurant itself isn't much, but it's the food that shines! Light, healthy, and flavorful! If you've never had Middle Eastern food, it's definitely worth a try for your first experience.

My family has been to this restaurant before and loved it. They suggested that I get Falafel Salad. It was so good. When we went in we received service right away. All of the food we got had such nice eye appeal and everyone loved it.

Tried this out for the first time and was beyond pleasantly surprised. Delicious food. We saw the owner/chef prepping everything by hand. Chopping fresh veggies as he went. Amazing spread, great prices, and perfect experience. One of a kind in the area. We will definitely be back. As we were hurrying to leave with a crying 5 week old, the... More

When you want healthy, tasty and unique ethnic food at an affordable price I highly suggest people check out Zakey while visiting Traverse City. The Jordanian decor is humble and comfortable and ethnic music is always playing. If you are vegetarian you should try the Mazza Plate which is actually a full meal...but located on the appetizer section of the... More

I am completely disturbed of how terrible the food and service was today. It was terrible from the moment we walked in the door. The server had no personality, the $10 appetizer looked like vomit on a plate, the gyro was sloppy, poor presentation, was cold, and it had way too much cucumber sauce on it. My husband did not... I have traveled the world while serving in the Air Force. One of my best friends is also very well traveled. We were board of the typical Northern Michigan cuisine so I took him to Zakey for lunch the other day. Having eaten there before I knew I would enjoy it. The meals are delicious, priced well, and fairly portioned.... More

I have enjoyed the food at this restaurant for several years…..but our most recent visit was horrible. We waited almost 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at our table. The waiter, who seemed flustered and overwhelmed said they were "backed up in the kitchen" but he'd be right back for drink orders and with menus. There were 2 wait... More

thank you for honest response.i am so sorry that you were not happy.it has been a challenging road to get staff that are reliable and want to work,it is not an excuse, but as an ethnic food cooked to order.it is not fast food to say the least.i did realized that .so I gave you 50% off.hopefully this will not be...
