After a day of wine tasting on Old Mission Peninsula a fine meal in this quaint restaurant was a fitting end. The older crowd dining here shows that they offer good Northern Michigan food at a good value. Take some time to view the art offered by local artist.

The tavern is unassuming and a bit out of the way. But don't be fooled by its demeanor and don't fail to eat at this place which lies an easy 20 minutes drive up the Old Mission Peninsula from Traverse City. I almost didn't and would have missed out on my favorite evening of my trip. I was very surprised... More

Worth a stop for a spot of lunch, interesting gallery, food quality for the price excellent, nice choice on the menu that would satisfy most tastes, maybe next time in the area perhaps I would try the evening to visit & see what the local scene is like.

We were staying at a bed & breakfast and the hostess recommended the Old Mission Tavern. It seemed very far out in the country as we were driving there and we were beginning to be apprehensive. Then we walked in and saw the white tablecloths. The waitress assured us that we were in for a treat---and we were. The wine... More

This is a local restaurant favorite complimented by an interesting art gallery. Yes, it's a 14 mile drive from downtown but what a beautiful drive out the Old Mission Peninsula. Chicken artichoke, the fish, lamb, and liver w/onions are favorites of ours. An, for a sandwich, the burgers and wallyeye sandwiches are the best. And, if you are lucky enough... More

We stopped in because OMT is listed on a Top 10 Best Restaurant list. I have no clue how they got on the list. The white fish appetizer was cream cheese--could not taste whitefish. The artichoke appetizer had a few pieces of artichoke mixed in the same base as the white fish appetizer. At least you could taste those few... More

This place was a bit surprising walking into but the art gallery and restaurant were very interesting. The food was great and staff was very friendly. Great place worth the stop.

We were driving up to Mission Point with no restaurant in mind. This place appeared to pop up out of nowhere, but we noticed some locals going in so we decided to give it a try. To start, the gallery was delightful. We were there for lunch and seated immediately. Ice water was immediately served along with drink request. We... More

We had prime rib, lamb chops this time that we both liked. Fresh green beans with almonds were especially good. An extra bonus is getting to walk through the attached art gallery after dinner.
