Excellent burgers, much-improved fries, Northwoods sodas in a friendly, funky atmosphere. Limited menu. Very bicycle and walking accessible. Why bother with fast food chains when places like Slabtown exist???

Slabtown has made a name for itself on this stretch of Front Street. The burgers are first rate, especially the Stuffed Blue Burger. They also serve wraps, other sandwiches and salads. It's a nice friendly, clean spot. You order at a counter, and they bring it to you - and they bring it fast! It's near Munson Hospital, so they... More

This is usually our first and sometimes last stop in town. We have yet to have a bad burger and we've tried most everything on the menu.

A perfect spot to grab a quick bite...sandwiches, burgers, soup/chili, milk shakes. Indoor and outdoor seating. You order from their posted menu at the counter then find your seat and they bring your food to you very quickly. Delicious buns and great fries (french or very excellent sweet potato). I had the Big Bird (a turkey sandwich) which was very... More

As Slabtown is right down the street from us we can easily see how busy it is, wait for a quiet time (there are few) and grab a burger and fries to take back and sit on our patio and enjoy. The place is fun, people are friendly and food is good. If you are passing through town this is... More

Go straight for the greasy - don't bother with the healthy stuff. Fantastic burger joint! Location is a little ways from downtown, but worth it. Grab a burger and eat it while walking back to town on the TART trail.

We stumbled on this restaurant at 11:30 on a wet Saturday. The place was PACKED. It is small and cozy inside and they do a bustling business. I expected to only see burgers on the menu, but there is quite a nice variety for non-meat eaters. We got the Slabtown burger, and didn't have to eat for the rest of... More

Very good burger in an old house with outdoor seating. Reasonable price and "order it like you want it". Not a $10 gourmet burger, but one like you used to have as a teen-ager. Just the right amount of grease, but not dripping down your arm. Excellent fries and large cookies make you not want to get on the scales... More

Good burger-very flavorful beef. You have your choice of toppings though some like grilled mushrooms & onions will cost .50 extra. Broccoli soup was very good. Root beer was best I have ever had though refills are .75 extra. Also have good local soda selection which was something different. Sweet potato fries were just ok. Limited seating as rude lady...
