The first thing I loved was the name

The Flap Jack Shack in Traverse City had some good food. Our waiter was really happy, personable, and efficient. I got the reese's pancakes which were good but would have benefitted from chocolate syrup instead of peanut butter. We also got the red velvet pancakes because I love red velvet... read more

The morning before starting our wine tasting trip we asked the front desk at our hotel where to go and this was their suggestion. Three of us got skillets and were disappointed that 75% of it was potatoes. They looked fabulous just not enough toppings for what we expected. One of us got something we'd never heard of and it... We figured with a name like Flap Jacks the flap jacks would be outstanding. Wrong. What a disappointment, the flap jacks were floury (?) tasting. The only thing they got right with all the breakfasts were the eggs. A big let down.

Broad menu with all of the usual breakfast suspects and few locally (read Cherry) influenced dishes. The Cherry stuffed sourdough French toast was sweet, but excellent!

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at this restaurant. The desk clerk at our hotel recommended the restaurant. The staff was very personable and our food was very good.

We always get great service. The kitchen is the dicey part. Our server is always helpful and remedies any mistakes. Don't expect anything ground breaking.

We were here about a year prior to this recent visit and the food and service was much better then. They were not seating even though there were empty tables. It was explained to us by a hostess who who be better off in a different role, that there's a "slow down in the kitchen and it would be 45... More

We thought this place looked really cool, and decided to give it a try. The decor is funky and retro, and provides a neat atmosphere. We were greatly disappointed in the food. For being named after a breakfast food- their flap jacks are really not that great. They're pretty bland, and super dry- don't let them cool, because then the... More

I had scrambled eggs, potatoes and pancakes...The potatoes were really tasty, I wonder what happened to actually making "scrambled" eggs, looked like the start of an omelet then chopped up. Pancakes were doughy, cold syrup. Pancakes comes with most of the breakfasts (or toast) so I thought we could get great pancakes (wrong). A waitress from another section was assisting... More

We went on a Sunday for brunch and it was horrible! First off there was a 20 minute wait and there were open tables! When we inquired about the open tables the manager stated that he couldn't sit us there because their workers and kitchen couldn't keep up... So we waited and finally were seated. Our waitress wasn't on top... More
