Not what we expected

A little hard to find. We read great reviews of their wood fired oven products, especially their pizzas. We visited them twice. We wanted pizza the first time. They advertised making pizza from 5-9pm only. We were there at 4:45pm and was told they had a very large order to produce and that they... read more

I stop at Pleasanton Bakery almost every time I make a trip into TC: their bread is amazing (and so are their other baked goods - try the shortbread)! The pizza, fresh from a brick oven, is delicious (and habit-forming).

Friends recommended Pleasanton to us a few years ago, and now it's our source for bread in Northern Michigan. We can (and do) make our own bread, but we don't have a brick oven or well tended starters like Pleasanton. What a difference they make. The Bakery is now making pizzas. Pleasanton's prowess with bread is apparent in the wonderful... More

I regularly buy bread from the brick oven bakery and it is one of my favorite bread makers in Traverse City - old world style, a slow rise using mostly Michigan grains. But recently I tried a pizza from them. We chose the "meat lovers" which had unique wide slices pepperoni, or salami and some great salty cappicola. Actually I'm... More

I bought a loaf of Parmesan Olive bread and it was fantastic. If you love fresh baked breads, scones, cookies etc. this is your place. They have a very good selection. The bakery is located just minutes from downtown at commons which was once the state hospital.

We stopped in after a tour of the State Hospital. I grabbed a loaf of the parmesan olive bread. It was fantastic. Crusty and delicious plain, toasted, and grilled. I tried it all three ways. Good bread and butter is such a treat!

I had the best bread (parmesan olive bread) and scone (white chocolate apricot) ever during my recent visit to Pleasanton. My highest recommendation! Not only was the scone tasty, it was huge. Don't miss this quaint place on the grounds of Grand Traverse Commons.

We go hiking on the Grand Traverse commons and always stop at pleasanton bakery for a treat after. Great coffee, great cookies, great bread and plenty of tarts, cakes and such to choose from. Sharing with friends, we discovered they make pizza too. On the list for the next trip :-)

They have the main Bakery in the Grand Traverse Commons and a small storefront in downtown. The ginger molasses cookie was killer, chewy and warm with spices. The flourless chocolate cake is melt in your mouth sweetness (definitely should be eaten the day you buy it). The crostini are more breadsticks than crostini but there was sweet (dried cranberry and... More

Pleasanton Brick Oven Bakery looks like it's located in an old fire house. So cute! Step inside and you will see the broad selection of freshly baked bread, focaccia, cookies, and other types of sweets. They also have a brick oven for baking pizza, which was very appealing. We ordered a couple of loaves of bread to take home. Very... More
