This small chef-owned and operated restaurant is amazing and worth the price. We went there on the day after Christmas and tried the five entrees on that night's menu. They were all extremely tasty and just the right amount for sharing. This restaurant is a hidden gem!

We visited the Cooks’ House based on the number of glowing reviews in various media. In some circumstances these accolades may have held up, but not during our visit. Holding a reservation, we were seated promptly. Wait staff were equally prompt. So far, so good. First courses included a green salad for my companion. The mélange of lettuces were poorly... More

Small place, easily filled up so reservations a must. Specially crafted dishes, both for looks and taste. Tasting menu consisted of smaller portions of menu items. Good for special occasions. Wine with tasting menu was well paired but no blockbusters. Food with some unusual flavors, though nothing radical. Best seats are the stools facing the kitchen to see the chefs... More

This was our first visit to the Cook's House and we truly enjoyed every aspect of it - from our attentive servers and impeccably prepared food to the intimate venue. All was wonderful. The friendly banter we had with Chef Eric Patterson was fun and watching the skilled cooks in the kitchen work together to prepare our excellent meals was... More

What a great dining experience that makes you feel like you're in a chef's home. I had heard such great things about this place and am glad that I went. Lovely cheese plate and beverage list. They could use a few more vegetarian options.

Our first trip to the Cook's House did not disappoint! We'd read the reviews and were excited to experience it after making a reservation a couple weeks ahead of time. We loved the intimate atmosphere, specialized attention with various servers and an excellent wine recommendation. From start to finish, every course was beautifully presented and delicious. We started with the... More

I first attempted to make reservations in August, 2014 but, at the height of the season, it was impossible to get in. Fast forward five months, I found myself in Traverse City and I got a reservation. How exciting! Very intimate place, only seven tables. Cozy. Elegant. I was seated by the pass-through from the kitchen, which was nice vantage... More

For our first visit at the Cooks' House, we arrived just on time for or reservation and were seated immediately. The chef was celebrating the birth of a grandkid, so we were invited to join in the celebration when we were presented with a glass of champagne compliments of the chef. We had the rabbit salad, shared the beef cheeks... More

The Cook's House focuses on local food. They take very fresh food and do just the right things to it. The trout I had on my last visit was perhaps the finest I've eaten. The wine list is fun, and I've enjoyed things I would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere like ice wine and quality sherries. There are many places... More

This restaurant is over 300 miles from our home in Chicago but we'll be back for more! No, I don't mean we'll drive 300 miles for dinner-it's only food- and we have some stellar restaurants in Chicago but when in Traverse City this will be our #1 choice for our first dinner as it was on our recent trip to...
