Fabulous food but they have not yet reopened as of July 16, 2014. This is located right next to Horizon Books--there is a parking garage around the corner.

Although their food is excellent, we enjoy going for appetizers and a drink. They have high tables as well as booths. We enjoy the high tables. I loved the meat cooked on a hot stone...great. We had four different appetizers and all were wonderful. Right down town and a great place to stop before going to a movie or shopping... More

As you may or may not know Red Ginger experienced a structural problem caused when a column collapsed in their 100+ year old building. They are currently closed while the contractors replace a the columns under the direction of their engineers. Last night we joined the Red Ginger staff at Black Star Farms for a "Pop Pp" dinner. Chef Dan... More

My family and I visited Traverse City recently and decided to check out Red Ginger for dinner because of the high reviews it got. I found the food to be decent, but nothing wowed me. It still doesn't take away from the lovely decor and ambience of the restaurant and the great service we received! I was just expecting more... More

My family has been to Red Ginger countless times since we live in Traverse City. It has NEVER disappointed and is the place of choice that most of our children have chosen for their birthday dinners. The decor is beautiful and soothing and there is lots of seating. Since it tends to be very busy and noisy on weekend nights,... More

I am no stranger to exotic food and preparation. From Asia to the Middle East to North Arica to the American South and beyond. I can not say that the food is bad here but the combinations of flavors no matter how artfully presented are simply odd. The sushi is fresh. As are all the other ingredients. Don't expect any... Great food, a little pricey, but worth it. Calamari is delicious and of course, love the sushi. Excellent location and service.

What a great treat. The only bad thing is that I don't live in Traverse City so I don't get to frequent this restaurant as much as I would want. It is always on my list of to dos in TC.

Under reconstruction. A brick beam inside Red Ginger collapsed. "We had a column simply disintegrate," said Tom Darga, the building owner. "It's an old original column." Everyone got out safely, but there are still some major concerns.
