A very enjoyable dinner with the family and friends last Thursday. A very hospitable welcome for us in the restaurant's bar beforehand with a good choice of proper traditional beers; and where we ordered our meals. I had superb scallops with black pudding for starter followed by fillet steak and triple cooked chips for the main course- all excellent -... More

We had an overnight stay in the Hurley Room and Hambledon Room, both ensuite. Bed lovely and comfortable. Nice TV in Room. Spotlessly Clean and nice size. Peace and Quiet. On arrival we were met by Kevin and Justin. We had arrived a bit early but wow those guys were super friendly and could not do enough to make you... More

I stayed here recently with my family and we had lunch here plus breakfast the next morning. The lunch was fantastic, there were about 25-30 of us in the party including children and they were really efficient in looking after us. Nothing was too much trouble and I couldn't fault the food and wine. We had a comfortable stay and... More

Spent a night here as part of a larger group. We were very look after by all the staff who were more than attentive. We ate as a big group for lunch which an often be chaotic however everything went perfectly, nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

I made a large booking (approx 20 adults and 10 children) for a casual 40th birthday lunch last Saturday. We had a lovely time. The service was remarkably friendly, patient and accommodating, and the food was fantastic. Being such a large group of people (including children) who did not all arrive at the same time, the potential was there for... More

I recently ate at the Baskerville with my girlfriend as we live locally. Interesting selection of wines and some cracking real ales. We both went for the 28 day aged steak which was flavoursome and melt in the mouth tender. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and the pub had a good atmosphere. Will definitely return and try again.

Burns night at The Baskerville is as much of a treat for the resident Scotts of the south as it is for the British locals who want to enjoy the iconic haggis on a traditional Burns Supper. The evening certainly didn't stop with the menu, from the 'Piping in the guests' on arrival, the 'address to the Haggis', followed by... More

I have been to the Baskerville a fair few times and I usually try their gorgeous burger in the summer months and then their pies in the winter (which are always a winner btw). However I decided to branch out and try their seafood pasta, which I have to say in other restaurants I have been thoroughly disappointed. But it... More
