We Stopped here in our way to Oscoda for lunch. Really fast, friendly, accommodating service. Great with kids. Salad bar was well stocked and both soups (chicken noodle And fajita) were delicious. Bathrooms were cute, but could use a wipe down. Great value, would stop again!

Wheeler's has been around longer than forever, or at least the 70 or so years that I remember. Once was the (only) stopping place of choice on the way up the east coast of the mitten. When I was a kid, we always stopped for lunch on the way from home to Tawas, since we always hit Standish around noon.... More

Went in here after going to the Granton after some bad service and had a wonderful experience with people that care about their customer's. Highly recommend restaurant.

Had the fish fry at Wheeler's Restaurant last Wednesday night. Very ample portions and nice light batter and not overcooked. This is a local restaurant that has been around for many years and the owners keep the 50's theme for the many travelers that have come here through generations. They also have a very nice salad bar and homemade soups... More

Great breakfast with big, large eggs, good strips of bacon with very good flavor. Pile of hash browns that were excellent with the right mix of crispy and well cooked parts. Toast is standard, but served its purpose well. Price is a little high but acceptable given the amounts and quality

Found this place trsvelling south from other reviews and we decided to try it. It has great old time atmosphere and it is the spot for the local families. Very small town and family frriendly. Waittress was friendly, cheerful and efficient. Service was fairly prompt. Atmosphere was fifties and Marilyn Monroe. Food was ample and tasty and modestly priced. Would... More

When time allows traveling north, a stop at Wheelers is a must. This spring it was for breakfast and memories. As usual the food is great and good coffee too! But the memories are what keeps me coming back. As a senior now, I reflect back to when I had meals with my parents when we too were traveling north.... More

Love the old time diner. Built in 1934 yet clean and serving a G R E A T breakfast. Glad we stopped here. Beats those fast food breakfasts all to heck!

We had been on the highway for several hours and began looking for a lunch stop. We hit the GPS and Wheeler's Restaurant popped up. It was a few miles from the interstate but worth the ride. Cozy with original booths and fixtures from decades ago. Big salad bar with what I believe to be homemade soups. It's not a... More
