Very good food-not a foo-foo restaurant

Contrary to the name this is also a guy eater's place. A good menu with healthful options (yea) they also have a series of daily offerings which looked interesting. So much so I ordered one. The Quiche Loraine , yes that's what it was called, and was a quiche made with a potato crust which made... read more

We went with a group of 13 and had a reservation. When we got there we were told a group was still there, but they had already paid and would be getting up soon, and they would be bussing the table. We waited another 45 minutes before these people left. I was livid. They never bussed the table as they... More

I hate giving one star reviews. I get no joy out of it. But sometimes you have to warn people so they don't get taken advantage of. So it's my duty. You are hereby warned. Our party of 4 was seated promptly with our reservation. That's where the good news ends. 10 minutes go by, no water, server, acknowledgment of... More

This is a unique place ( except there are SL's in Troy and Livonia) which has interesting menu choices and a good wine list. They use local ingredients Try the Mac and Cheese! Be sure to look at the desert menu. Comfortable and friendly.

Sweet Lorraine's is definitely a restaurant that I think of as a local insider eating establishment. However, if you are an out of towner and looking for a unique experience with a unique menu this is a great choice. My preference is to go for lunch but they do serve dinner. Gluten free options abound and the service staff are... More

Love the focaccia bread with the "italian salsa" to dip it in that comes before the meal. We had lunch here today, nice hummus appetizer and I enjoyed a spicy steak pizza. They always have great specials. They seem to be famous for their mac & cheese but I actually haven't tried that yet! Appreciate that they use a lot... More

If you join there email list they often send mail for by one entree get one free. The decor is lovely and its fancy but not uncomfortable. The little mint truffles at the end of the meal... More

A Detroit-area native, I have been going to Sweet Lorraine's for years and always make a point to stop in at least once per year. While they have a pretty large menu, my two favorite things have always been the complimentary focaccia and the desserts. The desserts, in particular, are worth stopping in here for even if you don't want... More

This isn't the same Sweet Lorraine's from the late-90's / early-00's that I remember. Sadly, their Piedmontese California Burger is no longer in the menu. And they no longer provide their freshly baked muffins that always came with their delicious focaccia bread. But the worst part? The service has been pretty disappointing during the last few visits. Seriously ... More... More
