The food was good and the environment was nice. The kids enjoyed it also. It is not cheap but I recommend it for a nice place to go.

We had dinner at Sophie's Steakhouse tonight and it was GREAT. We both had filet and they were wonderful - perfectly prepared. Salads were excellent and the "in house" backed bread was perfect. Definitely a return visit for us -- very soon. Server Grace was superb.

Good local steakhouse. The food had a nice fresh made flavor although the portions were moderate. Surprised it wasn't busier for a Saturday night, but it was early in the season. Service was a little slow so relax and enjoy your food.

Johnanna is an absolute pleasure. My visit was paired with a person who doesn't have a clue but believe they know it all and she was a true professional during it all. The food was plentiful and tasty and the service time was really good. I can't imagine what could have gone wrong before with others but it's all right... More

My colleague and I celebrated a successful project completion with a dinner at 'the best steakhouse in the area'. Compared to Morton's or Ruth's Chris, this was Burger King. Overpriced choice steak (or below) comparable to Golden Coral. The steak was served on a c-o-l-d plate and was dry (no juice apparent on the plate). Result, cold steak in 15... More

I wasn't too sure about this place based on the outside. Turns out the food was quite excellent and the martinis great! The inside was nicer than I expected. The server brought us a raw meet platter before we ordered and make a nice presentation - which wasn't too large but looked enticing. In the end - our steaks were... More

This restaurant at the exit to South Haven had some of the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. There were 9 in our reservation, at 6 pm. It would seem they scheduled for 6 at 9 pm. No matter, they weren't busy at all, but nonetheless it took over 20 minutes for the waitress to get a drink... More

We had driven from Grand Rapids to spend a winter weekend at Inn at Hawks Head (which was great and they have a fabulous restaurant!) however mother nature conspired against us and we found ourselves completely snowed in and stranded. None of the inn staff could make it to work and alas their restaurant and pub were closed.... We decided... More

We felt as though we might as well have gone to the Texas Roadhouse in Holland. We had made a reservation with a note that it was my wife's 60th birthday, the restaurant was not busy, but we were seated at a very small table and had to ask to be moved, the wait person agreed our table was not... Sophie's is a hidden gem just north of downtown South Haven. A very warm and inviting setting begins with an introduction to your choice of top meats presented on a chilled platter. We found our generous cuts-of-beef cooked to perfection sans the "charring" technique used by modern, big-city steakhouses like back home in Chicago. Prices were moderate and acceptable for... More
