We stopped at many restaurants in town and we have always had a great meal with friendly wait staff and good service at the Thirsty Perch that has the best Raw Bar. I am a raw bar type of guy. We eat at different places for meals but I ALWAYS even if I'm driving by on the freeway (I196) stop... More

Came to SH on a Saturday afternoon. My sister-in-law and I ordered the Mahi tacos. We were told they were not Mahi, but whitefish. No problem. When they arrived, I knew they were not made with whitefish. The fish was very dark in color and very fishy smelling. After one bite, I knew I could not eat it. Ditto for... More

We were in S.H. for a few days and had dinner here. We had the Perch, Fish Tacos, Shrimp, Oysters and Crab. All was good and came with home made slew. This place was a bowling alley back in the day and the tables were made out of the old lanes. Nice quit place with good service.

Came To South Haven on a limited budget but decided to splurge on one meal. Sadly we chose the Thirsty Perch. My bill for three meals, a cup of soup and 3 coffees came to over $80. This was the WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE for a meal of this price. We ordered coffee with our meals... More

The food and service were below par. I felt like I was no an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Not any place I'd recommend.

We ate at the Thirsty Perch while on a family outing to South Haven. We all got different items on the menu. All of us agreed the food was just average and the service average as well. I had the perch sandwich and the perch was plentiful but the breading was to heavy for my taste.

This restaurant is fine. In a town with not much going on it was one of the best sounding places I could find. I had a piece of fish, which was pretty small and my wife had a salad. The food was alright, the cocktails were not bad. As I couldn't find any real upscale dining options in South Haven,... More

The service was very slow. We waited about 45 minutes with 3 kids for our food. After 30 minutes I asked for bead and butter which we quickly devoured. The kids had burgers and chicken tenders and seemed satisfied. We had the perch, pan-fried and slightly burnt. The clam chowder was watery and inedible. There are better choices in South... More

Off the main drag in South Haven, and not very busy when we got there late. My pan fried perch was good, my husband's battered/fried whitefish was just ok. Our waitress was very accommodating, however, letting us try a type of beer we'd never had before purchasing.

If you enjoy a fabulous bouillabaisse, this is the place!! However, our waitress did spill my husband's dinner on him with no hint of compensation (he did catch the flying hot fish).
