Across from the entrance to the Soo Locks the Lock View isn't just for tourists. Local people regard our whitefish as the best with our saying "the fish you eat today slept last night in whitefish bay". We prepare our whitefish and walleye many different ways: pan-fried, broiled, lemon-pepper, Cajun, deep-fried, Cajun deep fried, Cajun broiled, and lemon pepper broiled. We are more than family friendly and with two floors of seating; we can easily accommodate large groups! Open May- October!

Nice place

Easy access, great location, nice meal. Had a seat upstairs by the window and enjoyed watching the ships.

Stopped in for food and drinks. Great that they have fresh caught fish and fresh burger for the sandwiches, keeping it local. But they need to take the extra step and get rid of the boxed mashed potatoes. It's not hard to boil and smash them.

If you like whitefish this is the place to go. Been here probably 4-5 times over the past few years and it is always fresh and well prepared. It is really a great view of the SOO Locks while you eat. The service was quick and friendly.

My friend & I arrived just after 1p.m. and chose to climb the stairs to the upper room. I ordered the local fish sandwich on bun with fries, my friend ordered a Reuben. The food finally arrived after a kitchen mix-up 40 min. later. We were offered a 20% discount for our trouble.....The Reuban was large and fat, hot and... More

After the visit to the Locks we walked over to the Lockview restaurant. I had the Whitefish dinner Cajun spiced deep fried. whitefish was good not over cooked. Not spicey not Greasy at all. Coleslaw side was bald but the dinner salad was decent. My husband had a good Reuben sandwich with fries and my kids had grilled cheese and... More

Stopped for breakfast which was great. Great view of SOO LOCKS. great history with friendly wait staff. I think whitefish would be excellent as place got its start with that meal. Waitress was on cellphone at times, but was attentive.

The Lockview had everything we needed--good food with fast and friendly service. Sit upstairs for the best view of the locks. If you do end up waiting around for food or want to keep kids amused, they have some interesting pictures and articles on the walls.

Will not go there again. We give places a couple of chances and this one is a no go. The service was poor and my fish had to be sent back, and my food has to be bad for me to send it back. They were not busy and it took the waitress forever to see if everything was ok... More

Husband and I drove here specifically for whitefish. He loved it, I not so much. I'm picky when it comes to eating fish & this didn't do it for me. Had a nice cornmeal batter, but fish was dry & fishy tasting. I know what good fish is, as I grew up in New England. Only ate about half of... More

It was like time has stood still in this restaurant, and that is a good thing. It looks like nothing has changed since the late 1940s, decor-wise, and it makes the place perfect. Restaurant overlooks the Soo Locks (sit on the second floor for the best view). My wife and I both ordered Pasties, a UP traditional food. They were... More
