Across from the entrance to the Soo Locks the Lock View isn't just for tourists. Local people regard our whitefish as the best with our saying "the fish you eat today slept last night in whitefish bay". We prepare our whitefish and walleye many different ways: pan-fried, broiled, lemon-pepper, Cajun, deep-fried, Cajun deep fried, Cajun broiled, and lemon pepper broiled. We are more than family friendly and with two floors of seating; we can easily accommodate large groups! Open May- October!

Excellent, Casual, Friendly Restaurant

We stopped by on a rainy, blustery day in early October. The waitstaff have a lot of experience, and call many of the customers by name. People from nearby hotels come here for many meals. We were seated at a table with a view of the locks, where the largest ship on the lake was going through... read more

Went to Lockview during a one night stay in Sault Ste. Marie. Good food and good ambience. Well-located in town near the locks. Would come again.

Nostalgic charm, amazing views from the upper level dining room. The food is amazing from one of the best ruebens in town and some of the best white served on the UP. They are even open late. More than a satisfied customer

Stopped here for lunch after viewing the Locks. The fish was excellent and the staff was great. Nice and cozy. Great view of the locks. Would definitely eat here again. The menu has some interesting local information.

We were looking for a pastie, common and highly recommended in the UP. After seeing it on the menu, we decided to eat at Lockview. Our waitress told us that they didn't have any because they would be closing for the season next week. Still being open for 9 days they should have had them, also ordered sweet potato fries... More

One of the only restaurants open in Saulte Marie on a Monday night in late sept. Ordered the broiled whitefish, very very dry, the salad iceberg with a few almost nonexistent vegies and cold defrosted soggy vegies.

Cute, cozy restaurant. The sandwiches we had were very good. I had the chicken sandwich, it had two breasts on it and was made perfectly. My husband had a Reuben, he said EXCELLENT. Staff was polite, service was quick.

We ate here for lunch and dinner. It has a ship theme decor, which is appropriate since it is directly across the street from the Soo Locks. We enjoyed our whitefish and clams (The best clams we've had outside of New England), and watched a ship go through the locks at the same time!

We were staying next door at the little hotel. We loved that this restaurant was within walking distance. The steps worried us because there is a wheelchair in our traveling party. I walked inside and asked and was told no problem come around back. So since we were able to get in we were hoping the food was good and... More
