Since 1986, Ida Red's Cottage has been serving Made-from-scratch breakfasts and lunches, year 'round. Our little place is a busy one, and our kind of cooking takes time, so expect to have to wait, sometimes a long time, during the summer season.

A must stop

Great breakfast eatery. Wide variety of muffins and full breakfast fare. If you like french toast, don't miss the "Chicago Style" french toast. It is exquisitely delicious. It melts in your mouth. Nicely priced and attentive wait staff.

Great for lunch with fresh and innovative salads and pastas. Be prepared to wait for a table, but its well worth it. Don't miss the Rice Pudding.

Everything on the menu is awesome. Fresh Squeezed orange juice, and you can see the do it, no box or bag juice here. Pancakes are awesome. Get there early they get very busy you might have to wait a bit but well worth it !

Went there for a nice breakfast and was not disappointed. I had the French toast and a muffin and my wife had an omelet. Both were top notch! Beware the place only takes cash and don't be in a rush as the service is kinda slow. But I would recommend!!

I've heard many good things of this location, thought maybe I should venture out and try it myself, the drive long the lake shore is nice and Saugatuck Douglas area is one of best spots, Ida Red's is a small but cozy restaurant, service is good waited a few minutes for seating, a good local food spot and many were... We have been visiting Ida Red's for the scrambles and whole grain pancakes for several years. The breakfast food is really terrific, servers are nice and very efficient once you are seated. The kitchen can get backed up. It is a very small, very popular place in a resort town that has a dearth of breakfast places. A wait of... More

Fantastic breakfast! Charming interior. Servers were very friendly, polite and efficient. I point out the efficient becuse the wait for this place is unbelieavable long if you don't get there early. In fact, my breakfast turned into lunch (arrived at 10 a.m. Sunday, ate at noon) It was worth the wait.

Horrible and insulting staff!!! This is a lengthy review, but please read to the end, I might save your family from patronizing at this kind of establishment. I have been coming to South Haven, Saugatuck, Finnville, etc, for the past 6yrs and I have never had a bad experience until I decided to step foot in this place. Where do... More

The habituees of this site are not above lying, when needed, to shim-up a dubious complaint. This individual is lying when she writes what the police officer said. The police officer pointedly told her that he has never been called to our restaurant. It was her fate to have had this experience. From the way her family reacted to the... More

Waited 20 minutes for a table. Another 45 for food. Food was good if you have an hour and a half for breakfast
