Bummer. My favorite place for breakfast. Closed Fall of 2013 and moved to Holland, Mi. so far nothing has opened in its cheaper place.

We like it so much it's on our list of annual "must do's" on our August visit to Douglas, MI. Lobster omelet was incredible. So is bananas foster French toast.

Been going to Saugatuck for nearly 50 years and remember the Elbo Room since I was a child. Kind of a boat house on the riverfront with a screened in porch eating area. Food is home-cooked, non-commercial and somewhat organic. My teenage son loved the bran pancakes, gobbled them up without even using the syrup. The homemade banana bread that... More

Had breakfast there a few weeks ago while on vacation. Food is good but $2.99 for a cup of coffee?? Come on, really? And over $10 for poached eggs on a muffin? If a $40+ breakfast means a nice view, then we got that but we ate elsewhere the rest of the trip. Service was very good and staff was... More

It was a beautiful day on Sunday. My husband and I decided to drive to Saugatuck for some sunshine and lunch. We arrived after 12:00. They were still serving breakfast or lunch. We waited an hour for our burgers. Our waitress was nice, but never apologized for the wait. I don't think we'll return.

Ugh! Our experience was not very good. The Elbo Room was out of cinnamon rolls and tomato pie, 2 menu items they are known for, at 11:00 on a Saturday. Our waitress took forever to get to our table and then ignored us most of the time we were there. Our coffee and water were not refilled, she was unpleasant... More

Delicious food!! The omelets were so good and all of the bread is homeade. I had awesome raisin toast and my husband had delicious banana bread. We also ordered a cinnamon roll and it was seriously the best one we have ever had! We took most of it with us b/c it is the size of a dinner plate! So... More

The Elbo Room was quite close to our accommodations, so it was our first breakfast in Saugatuck. The farmers omelet and eggs benedict were very good as was the service, and while the food didn't blow us away, I would go again. We had a table by the window and enjoyed the setting almost as much as breakfast. It has... More

This was our first time in Saugatuck. We chose the Elbo Room because of Tripadvisor reviews. Everyone was right. So I am also giving it a great review. The cinnamon roll is huge, well worth it and we had the extra boxed up to take with us. We ordered an omelette to share which was plenty, but if you want... More

We really enjoyed our breakfast here. We started with a delicious -- and enormous! -- cinnamon roll that four of us shared. I then had great eggs Benedict with avocado and spinach and my husband had biscuits and gravy. The food was fresh and very good. The fresh-squeezed OJ was also really good. The restaurant itself isn't much to look... More
