The restaurant is closing and another one will open soon. If you like Mexican, please visit El Rodeo in Benton Harbor. It serves similar food in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. The New Lake House looks to be a more upscale establishment that will take advantage of it's location and be available for weddings and special events.

We really like El Cozumel. The food is very good, service polite and swift and a good value. You may dine outdoors overlooking Lake Michigan, which is special.

We go here a lot for lunch with coworkers since they're usually pretty speedy and the food is pretty decent - typical Mexican food - the guac is really yummy! But the real reason to go is in the summer when you can sit outside and see the water and have some margs :)

We have had two family birthday parties at El Cozumel. The entire family enjoyed the singing in Spanish and having the birthday person receive their cake in their face! I'm sure we will return for another event.

Good food, good beer, and a great view of Lake Michigan when the weather is favorable. There is nothing like sitting on their patio having a beer and some quacamole and watching the sun set over Lake Michigan. Try it you'll like it.

Salsa, Gaucamole, margaritas were good but the Carne Asada was probably the worst anyone in our group had ever had. Not even sure what type of meat it was. Possibly shaved round steak, it was tough and not appetizing looking. Taco and enchiladas were ok. Service was good but will look elsewhere for Mexican food when in that area again!!!!

We enjoyed dinner at El Cozumel twice while in town and enjoyed it both times. They have a lovely balcony that looks out over the lake. The service was excellent. I would not hesitate to visit this place again.

I went two times to this restaurant. First time, I ate supreme enchiladas. The plate is very hot, but not the food. Enchiladas were not tasty and the beef was hard to bite. My second time was because I decided to give a second chance. I ask for a shrimp quesadilla. It was dreadful. The whole quesadillas was covered by... More
