Wonderful, accommodating staff; great decor, superior service & excellent food. We have eaten Mexican food in many different states & regions& Jose's ranks up there with the best. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!

We just happen to drive by Jose's Cantina and being that it was lunchtime and I LOVE Mexican food, we stopped. The sign out front said "Rated best tacos in the UP" so of course I had to try the tacos and they were amazing!! The food was fantastic, we sat outside and the view was wonderful. I loved everything... More

The food here just wasn't what we had hoped for when seeing that the parking lot was pretty full. The food was mediocre, and one (of two) meals was completely wrong and had to be redone. The service was slow, unfortunately. The view of the lake was beautiful, though.

Went to this dive on July 5 2014. The food took forever and they weren't busy at all. Horrible taste, and poorservice. A burroito they call "burrito of death" because it is supposed to be spicy...NOT. I Had to ask for a side of habenero to make it how they advertise it. The i was served iced tea...WITH NO ICE.... Six of us went to Jose's last night. We ordered margaritas and placed our orders. Over an hour later five of our meals arrived. The last one came 15 minutes later. The first five meals were cold. The nachos were barely recognizable as nachos. The chips were soggy and the cheese runny. Both were sent back and replaced with new... More

Husband and I went last for supper. Atmosphere seemed nice - brightly colored interior, friendly people, live music. Nothing else was. Waited for service, drinks, and food. When we finally got our food, portions were small and no very hot at least mine was. Hubby ordered shrimp fajitas - they still had the tails on which doesn't make sense. They... More

We went here as it was close to the motel we were staying at. Waited at least 5 minutes to be seated & it wasn't crowded. Ordered drinks & the waitress came back 3 times to tell us that each drink we ordered they didn't have. Owner came by to ask how everything was & I explained about the drinks.... More

Food was average. Service was great. The art work was fantastic. Happy to meet Steve the bartender artist who has spent hours on murals that really make this place stand out. Margaritas were good also. Location was perfect next to our hotel.

We took our family there last nite, after waiting a while for our food, seven of us got our meal and my husband's was not included. We had a new waitress and really felt the kitchen staff " run her under the bus" and set her up. First she was told it was coming up, then it was a mistake.... More

We had the pork nachos, they were excellent!!!! Also had chicken tamales they were delicious!!! We got them to go. While I was waiting for my order, I was asked by 3 different people if I was being taken care of. Very friendly staff.
