Tabouli is as good as Mom's. Guests come regularly from all over metro Detroit to eat here. Low key, family restaurant.
we ordered a wide spread and everything was fablious, from the garlic spread to the lamb and hummus and taboule. the owner was very friendly and helpful.
If you enjoy good middle eastern food, an a family setting this is the place. Not fancy, but not pricey. Nice variety on the menu -- you will enjoy it. You can try different and new dishes in a very comfortable setting. My wife and I go there often and never failed to enjoy our meal and the company.
The owner and his sister were helping wait on the tables. The food is all made in house (except for the bread) and was excellent! There were 5 of us dining and we each ordered a couple of dishes and then shared. The servings are generous and delicious! The owner makes fresh vegetable juices to order as well as fruit... More
The garlic dip served with the Sahara and Shwarma salad is excellent. The pita bread is fresh. The chicken shwarma is beyond good. Friendly waiter, cute too!
My family and I have been going to the Sahara for 35 years. They used to be off outer drive on the east side. Steve and his family ran it back then. The new owners have been there for 10 years and they carry one the tradition... No one makes ram kibbee like they do. I wont eat it any... More
Sahara is the best place for middle eastern food (I think it's actually Lebanese) on the east side. The food is always fresh and delicious, the prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.
Saraha is a GOOD middle eastern, ethnic restaurant, but the #1 dining establishment in St Clair Shores? I think, not. Their taboli, kibbe, and lamb dishes offer a great change-of-pace to area diners, but the menu is absolutely one dimensional. I've eaten lunch here, but would not choose it as a dinner spot. Attentive service. No bar.
