my wife and i ate here prior to a night out in royal oak. sushi is very good. this place was packed (we didn't have a reservation either). we only had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a table. the service was great and food arrived fairly timely for how busy it was. i'd definitely go back and eat here... The atmosphere is a trendy New York/Japanese mix. The sushi here is the best I have had in the area. The Ahi Tuna appetizer is THEE best and the tofu roll is highly recommended. If you enjoy sushi you will be glad you went to Ronin.

I was here for a birthday dinner. There is a rule that the entire must be present to be seated. The restaurant is well decorated and very appealing. Seating is a little close so personal conversations are limited. The food was lovely to look at and tasty.

This is a fun restaurant in the lively neighborhood of royal oak. Lots of sushi to pick from but they make it with a lot of rice. If you are into sushi with a thick layer of rice you will enjoy this place. If not, relax, have a drink and enjoy the nice atmosphere.

Met up with a few friends for dinner and drinks last week. From what I understand, this is quite the hot spot and they don't take reservations so we showed up early and put our name in but they will not sit you until the whole party is there. We sat at the bat and enjoyed $2 beers and then... More

I had dinner here at my daughter's recommendation as we love sushi but have a hard time finding really good sushi. This was definitely the best sushi I have had in about 10 years. The atmosphere was fun and lively. Service was excellent and we did not have to wait to be seated - but we arrived pretty late in... More

We started in the upstairs lounge waiting for a table.....very nice place. We ended up getting seated at the bar which was cool because we were fascinated watching the guys work nonstop making sushi. We started by sharing a seaweed salad. It looked awful but when I tasted it, wow was it good. The sushi was out of this world... More

My favorite sushi place in Metro-Detroit For vegetarian sushi eaters I recommend the Shinto and Mountain Dew Rolls - Both are flavorful and delicious with a crisp refreshing aftertaste. The Cha Cha Roll is delicious but it is very heavy so I recommend splitting it with a few people. The Garlic sauce over the shrimp on top of the Cha... More

The ambiance and clientele at Ronin make for a fun night out on the town. I usually don't have a difficult time getting a table. Rarely do I have to wait more than 30 minutes, and it is well worth the wait. I highly recommend the mountain dew roll and pink blossom!
