I'm reviewing the coneys and fries. They are excellent and as good as the classics downtown. Fries are also good. Never ate anything else here. Having said that I miss the old building which was an incredible dive!

The place is like a 50s diner, very cool. We had a couple of the Coney Dogs for lunch and I had the best malt I have ever had. The fries were good and so was the Vernor's Ginger Ale. The service was fast and friendly.

We absolutely love Athens but for some reason over the last two years they have been closing the restaurant during the Woodward dream cruise - Very unfortunate I am not sure how much they get for subletting their lot but i am sure they could do both. There is nothing like a couple coney dogs - fries and a soda... More

fast service, good waitress, great ambiance. Parking is tight, but location easy to get to. The best coneys I ever had. Been going there for years.

Kids food was a little high priced for a coney. Had the Greek salad with chicken. The chicken was dry and pieces of fat. Dressing was mostly oil. With all the breakfast and coney options around here, we won't be back.

If you are visiting Detroit you need to know about Coney Island style hot dogs. (Locals already do.) Downtown you go to Lafayette or the American. Out here in the 'burbs the Coney places are generally reliable, good diners, as Athens is. But modernized into a sleek looking retro streetcar diner and perched on legendary Woodward Ave. almost at ground... More

Of course we had to have a coney! Hard to find a good coney dog. Athen's was good but they are doing the same thing other restaurants are doing, skinnier and smaller dogs for the same price or more. Coney craving does not happen often but should maybe try another coney stand like Joe's in Birmingham, MI

We were looking for something local, inexpensive, and fun! We found it at Athens Coney Island! Great 50's dinner atmosphere, hot dogs were excellent and service was friendly and fast! The husband had the Coney dog and i had the Athens dog and we were not dissappointed, both were tasty. We would definetly eat here again!
