Great Happy Hour!

Tom's Oyster Bar, a seafood restaurant, is located in trendy downtown Royal Oak. You can park either at a meter or nearby parking garage. This casual rustic restaurant has a cool vibe which made for a pleasant dining experience with friends. At the time we were there, we were able to get a seat right away, which isn't always the... I like being able to eat outside, and the food is fine, just not outstanding; we didn't finish our lunch, a rare event.

As a transplanted Marylander this was the first restaurant I met folks at for some seafood, beer and conversation. I am very particular about my crab cakes and Tom's did not let me down. Just a fun place with energetic atmosphere, good food, wait staff and ales.

This place is one of our staples everytime we visit Detroit. Love the Spanish coffee! Also I love when bars have blue cheese olives for martinis and they do. This past time we went we did not eat..we just sat at the bar like we usually do and had a great time. But food has always been good too! Love... More

Just eat here and never coming back. Service is bad, waitress slow...we had to wait 5 mins for the sauce for our calamari,10 mins for common cheeseburger. The salmon came with no or very small amount of sauce. Not a pleasant experience.

Went here with friends after comedy club. Had oysters, shrimp, two types of patent and all were delicious. Drinks and beer were very good as well. I will be back!!

I went here two days in a row this last weekend. Both visits were pre-planned. The first time I was there on Sunday we had a slight wait so we ordered at the bar. After about 10 minutes we were seated in a freezing cold section of the main restaurant. The high topped chairs were too short for the table... More

I visited for the first time today, had a late lunch. Was greeted and seated promptly. Had a few fresh shrimps and a bowl of lobster bisque. Shrimps were large and very fresh. Lobster bisque was excellent, had a few pieces of lobster on top. Waitress was attentive and service was efficient. However it was a couple of minor service... More

We went on a Saturday night during Royal Oak restaurant week. The place was very busy. We called ahead and got a table with only a 15 minute wait. The food was great. The service too. My wife had two cocktails, I had a beer. We shared an appetizer. We each ordered from the restaurant week menu which included a... More
