There are a number of items on the menu, but we usually get hamburgers when we come here. They have the best in the area, if not in the state, at least at the restaurants where we've been (which is a lot in Michigan). It does get very crowded after about 5:30 p.m. so you will have to wait some... More

It is a busy place. Don't go on a Saturday night. The wait time varies during the week. Went there for lunch and dinner. Seems like it is less busy at lunch, especially a late lunch. The wait time for dinner during the week is about 45 min. I personally like the atmosphere there. The burgers are one of the best I... Red Coat is know for their burgers and they are really good, but kinda on the pricey side as most topping are an extra charge. The fries and onion rings are also tasty. If you are going during peak dinner hours be ready for a wait...average wait time can range to 45+ minutes! Service is average and it is very... More

This is a local place that is always crowded. They absolutely have the best burgers in town. The interior has not changed in years - very casual, lots of dark wood and red lights for "ambiance" and noisy and crowded. However, I'll say it again - terrific burgers. BMKroyaloak oak

We live within walking distance, so our family frequents the Royal Oak location regularly. Parking is packed during peak hours, but valet is available. There is always a wait for a table, unless you arrive just as they open. Sometimes, the wait can be 45 minutes or longer. It is a small and cozy place. There are two dining areas:... More

The service is always so-so. The atmosphere is always loud and crowded. The food can get expensive for what it is. But the burgers are amazing. This is one of the few restaurants in this area where when you tell someone that you went there, they are immediately angry that you did not include them in your plans. Just typing... More

So many people told me I had to eat here at least once in my lifetime, and I guess I have. All I can say is that I wasn't wowed! I was told the burgers are amazing and yes it was a good burger, but for the price I paid for that burger it was just a good burger. Everything... More

We had a late lunch, so didn't have to wait, which I hear can be long. Good burgers, although you'd think doing such a large burger business, they could get the temperature correct. My MR burger was more MW. Lots of great burger topping choices to make it your own. Extensive beer selection, which my brother & husband loved. Save... More

This place is the best. The burgers are so good with a huge selections of toppings and add ons that you can always put a twist on a burger. Great to just grab a beer and a burger, settle in and really enjoy your meal. The service was less than stellar on this visit, the waitress was a bit too... More

Dark. Cozy fireplace. Secluded booths. Any kind of beer served up by the quintessential bartender. These are the best burgers ever. Great onion rings ans coleslaw too.
