The Wheat and Rye is very close to all the park sleep and fly hotels in the area of DTW airport. As previously stated the signature sandwiches are huge. 2 people could easily share and still have left overs. The really big sandwiches come on a onion bun. The food is good salads are nice and their burgers are really... More

I was in the area with coworkers and suggested we try wheat and rye based on the good reviews. I admit that I didn't believe that the sandwiches were as big as described. Until I ordered and received my huge corned beef sandwich. It nearly covered the plate and was stacked so high with delicious corned beef I could barely... More

We stopped in late after work, big screens all over the bar, great beer selection and on to the menu. I ordered the corned beef Event, yea it's an Event, bring a loaf of bread, enough meat and cheese for 6 sandwiches! You can't bite half way let, alone the whole sandwich! Very good meat, cheese and Rye bread. Washed... More

Went there last night.Food is ok for the price, service is good at the tables but sucks at the bar.I played the internet jukebox after 9pm and it wouldn't play any songs made in the last 20 years.I asked for my money back and was told "it's not our problem"The limit the selections after 9 to keep the young people out.But... The bartender seemed more interested in talking and looking at her cell phone than making drinks. We watched a couple leave because they couldn't get anyone's attention to bring them a drink. The bar wasn't close to being full, you shouldn't have to chase down your bartender. I ordered chili, it was cold. They took it back and heated it... More

Had an early flight in the morning out of DTW so stayed the night near the airport. Went here for a drink and dinner. Decent craft beer selection but nothing outstanding. The portions were huge. I got the Wheat and Rye sandwich which was HUGE and could barley finish 1/2 of it. You could split just the sandwich alone if... More

I was referred to this place by a local. He couldn't have been more spot on. I wouldn't call this place a dive, but it's not the Ritz either. The food, however, is very good. The portions were huge. I ordered an appetizer thinking it would be just that. It was large enough to be a meal for two. On... More

The food came in humongous helpings plus it was tasty. We had a sandwich so big we had to share and then still had leftovers. I felt the waitress were a bit rude but the place was crowded. We went back the next day, less crowded food still good waitress still rude. How do you expect to get a tip if... More
