When Rojo first opened Downtown, we were excited to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised at the fresh tasting ingredients. As of late, the food is sub par. I ordered brisket tacos and was disappointed that the food felt and tasted as if it were microwaved then set under a warming lamp. I don't mean to sound overly... More

My wife and I have been dining at Rojo Mexican Bistro for several years and it was always a go to place until today. It seems as though there is a new manager who would rather SCREAM at his employees instead of lead by example. The food is now sub par and trying to get a refill on anything is... More

We stopped in for lunch and found the place to be clean, cute and the service was very good. Our meal was excellent but would have been better as a carry-out. The seating was most uncomfortable. We sat in a booth and it was like sitting on a rock. We kept eating because the lunch was so tasty but we... More

The location of this restaurant is perfect and the bar ambiance is excellent. We sat off the windows and it was perfect for drinks and appetizers. An accoustic duo came in around 8 pm which made the time we spent there even more enjoyable. Highly recommend.

My wife and have been here several times and really like the food. Enchiladas and tacos are good. They made guacamole table side and it's great. But the last time we were there, early May 2014, our waiter was awful. He didn't bring chips and salsa...we had to ask for them. We ordered guacamole with shrimp...he didn't tell the guy... More

When I say ok Mexican food, I have spent a lot of time in Mexico and places that serve Mexican food so I expect a lot. The location is great for downtown Rochester, I was very happy with our service and the decor was very good.

After hearing great recommendations, we visited Rojo for the first time on a Monday night. The food was as advertised, very good. My wife loved the pulled pork and bacon tacos. The beef enchiladas were also excellent, mixed with interesting spices that made them different from any other I've ever tasted. We made a reservation which was a wise move... More

Stopped in for a family meal before a concert. My husband and I had not been there before, but other family members had. Waitress seemed like she was having a bad day. No smile or talk other than telling us her name, and were we ready to order. Husbands food arrived cold. House Margarita's were bitter, minimal salt and not... More

Laganiappe Night, a Christmas Event in Rochester MI is held the first Monday of December every year. We decided to give our cold winter event a warm tropical feel. The restaurant has an inviting, upscale atmosphere which is very inviting. We started out with the fresh, table side prepared Guacamole. Delicious! They spice it to your tolerance level. The chips... I've only ever dined here on a Tuesday so I've only ever ordered the $1 tacos, which consists of beef or chicken, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Sounds simple because it is, but they taste great. Add a little bit of salsa and they are perfect! I've invited extended family along on many occasions and have found that feeding a family... More
