I finally found a place that actually prepares burgers to order. I prefer medium rare which must be hard to achieve, since It is difficult to find a restaurant that can do it correctly. They nailed it. Perfect! The server could have been more attentive for they were not that busy. Try the olive burger if you like olives. My... More

We love the Side Door! Being a local we usually don't get to go very often in the summer, but we did sneak in twice this summer. The food is great! Best quesadilla's in Petoskey! I love the southwest salad, and Brett's Big Dog Brownie, is amazing!

Service and food come out fast here. We had whitefish which was fresh and tasty. Garlic mashed potatoes were great. Wife had the olive mushroom bacon burger which was surprisingly delicious. Kids got quesadilla which was good and other got Mac and cheese which was just kraft from the box it seamed. Nice drink specials every night. Great place for... More

This has been a great standby for me for several years now; I have never had a disappointing experience. Their burgers are awesome; perhaps the best in the area. EVERYTHING on the menu is very good- yes, I've tried it all. Quesadillas, wraps, burgers, steaks, soups, etc.; all the meals are good. Frank runs a tight ship and all the... More

I had the steak quesadilla but my friend, who is vegan, was happy with the portobello sandwich. We sat outside and it was good.

I had dinner there twice on a recent trip to Michigan and it was great both times. Very low key and casual atmosphere......and the olive burger was Awesome! One night I had it with mushrooms, chees and bacon! They have a diverse menu, including salads - the Greek salad is great!

We drove by a couple of times and the place was packed. You know what they say people don't wait for bad food. I had the White Finish Dinner, as good as any I have ever had. It was huge portion too. Sides were average, beer selection good. Waitress was tough no nonsense, but new her stuff.

After stopping at two places - one didn't serve after nine and one was in the midst do an electrical fire - we happened on the Side Door Saloon! Great food and beer and fun atmosphere! Beef and chicken quesadillas were ample and tasty! Yum! If you still need dessert, their one choice - a loaded brownie is amazing and... More

My husband and I had the whitefish dinner and both loved our meals. Fresh, well prepared large filets. Service was also great. Only downside is that the place is always crowded with tables close together so it is hard to have a conversation.
