My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch (2pm). We were the only people in the restaurant, so I am assuming they are more of a dinner place. Do starters, I ordered the chili and cornbread, and he had the lobster bisque. Both were good, just not great. For entrees we had the flatbread on special and the... More

One of the best casual lunches with friends we've had. Food was excellent and server was the best! Well pleased!

We tired Whitecaps because of a gift card we received. We had driven by many times but just never thought of trying it. I had whitefish with a caper/wine sauce and my wife had some sort of chicken. The service was good and so was the food but for what we had we thought it was a bit pricey. The... More

Came up for Festival on the Bay from Traverse City. Walked around downtown and were checking out all the restaurant menus. We decided to try Whitecaps. First we were seated right by the window (too chilly for patio). Our waitress, Regan, approached us right away for drinks. She explained the specials and was very knowledgeable (I'd never heard of Airplane... More

We used to frequent Whitecaps with every trip to Petoskey but have stayed away the past few years due to poor food and atmosphere quality. This July we went back with our teenage kids and loved the food. In fact we returned a couple nights later to eat again. Whitecaps takes reservations which is a plus with hungry teens although... We had dinner at Whitecaps because of their menu we viewed online and the various offerings. We had the calamari appetizer; light, lemony sauce, fresh diced tomatoes. Then the roasted beet arugula salad, fantastic! Entrees were the whitefish and walleye dishes, fresh and light, absolutely delicious! Roasted green beans were seasoned very well, rice pilafs were very tasty. Our waiter... More

My husband and I came here for a date night away from kids. Sangria wasn't the best but the draft beer was delicious! It was an Amber Ale. The filet was superb! One of the best we ever had. Green beans were cooked perfectly and the sauce for steaks were delicious! We took dessert to go--the chocolate cheesecake and i... More

We have been dining here for years and have not been disappointed up until now.Today at lunch my wife ordered the lamb tacos with a greek salad. The frisee in the salad was brown and the garden mix looked only slightly fresher. Our waitress was very pleasant & attentive and brought her a replacement salad. The lamb tacos were so... More

Although the restaurant overlooks Little Traverse Bay, it is located right on US 31. Eating on the patio is conversation-limited due to the traffic noise. The food is good but nothing that you haven't had somewhere else.
