Yummy

First let me say this is in the historic gas light district so parking can be a challenge (which I particularly notice as my mom uses a walker and can't walk far. I was able to drop her off in front and drive around). The restaurant is beautiful. My mom was seated right away. The wait staff is... read more

The view was great, the food excellent, the server very friendly. We shared a flatbread appetizer, which was delicious, I had wonderful fish. We will definitely go back.

Lovely establishment with great views of the lake but food is not great. Very pricey for the quality of food.

Ate at Whitecaps last night for the first time. The whitefish appetizer was really good but I wish it would have come with a better cracker. They looked like run of the mill Keebler, but the spread was excellent! Kids stared with the chowder which was awesome! The Osso Bucco was delicious as well as the vegetable napoleon! Wines seemed... Felt upon arrival that we were not welcome. My husband and I were met by the host staff with attitude when asked if we had reservations, we did not. She snottily told the server where to sit us. Our server was nice, but wasn't knowledgeable about the beer (he was a minor, so I won't fault him for that). My... More

Had the Lake Michigan whitefish , was excellent. Came with asparagus and rice. House salad was a good mix of different lettuce that you might expect in this type of restuerant . Large menu, would come back again to try another unique meal.

This is a great restaurant for that special meal or occasion. I found it a little pricey but I must saw that this was the best meal we had during a recent trip to Petosky and upper Michigan. I had the whitefish; which was the best prepared whitefish I've ever had! My wife had the mussels as her meal (appetizer)... More

First off, the view from this place is amazing - right off the water so you can see the break wall and the waves. The whole lake-facing side of the restaurant is windows so you can see for miles. The food is exceptional, as someone who lived on the east coast for a few years I can say with absolution... More

We spent an evening with friends looking to treat ourselves to something a bit more upscale than most of the area's dining options. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, with a great view of Little Traverse Bay. The kitchen offers a nice variety of dishes designed to accommodate most any palate, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Everyone in... More

I was surprised that there weren't more restaurants located on the water in Petoskey. Actually, I was surprised that there weren't more restaurants period...let alone restaurants with positive reviews. I scoured my options for a place that served whitefish (which I didn't think would be that difficult to find Up North) and came across Whitecaps. Yes, I ordered the whitefish... More
