Description: City Park Grill, one of Petoskey’s oldest buildings, was originally constructed in 1875. McCarty Hall, as it was then known was a malesonly billiard parlor that offered cigars and “intoxicating beverages.” Today, City Park Grill maintains a loyal clientele with house-made cuisine, focusing on locally procured produce, meats and lake fish, an awardwinning wine collection and house-made biscuits straight from the oven

I'll give it four stars for the food and three for the waitress. Eat in the bar for drink discounts.

My Wife and I were in Petoskey for the first time, staying at the Bay View Inn and stopped into town for lunch. I had the basic burger and it was cooked exactly as I like (medium-rare) and came with amazing house-made potato chips. The atmosphere is great, the building and decor are beautiful, and the staff was very nice.... More

The menu always reads well but the food doesn't live up to it. Not that there is anything wrong, it just doesn't meet expectations. That said, it certainly is consistent and a very cool atmosphere. The bar is beautiful oozing historic charm. I don't know what is bette; the wine list or the service. First class all the way. I... More

We returned here when we were in Petoskey again. The rich mahogany bar, creamy tin ceiling and interesting decor (arch passage ways connecting eating and bar area, old photos) are always enjoyable. As soon as you're seated, a waiter brings you a trademark warm scone (or roll) that is impossible to resist. I had the oven-roasted walleye, which was tender.... More

We have eaten here on several occasions and had a good experience each time. The service is good and the food is tasty, although we were surprised that the whitefish is so expensive when we last visited in July. Ernest Hemingway supposedly frequented this place during his summer visits to Petoskey. The rolls are buttery and delicious. It's located right... More

Our food was wonderful! Our server Jason was attentive and even gave us a private historic tour of the basement! This bar has so much history and Jason was very knowledgable! I would highly recommend this grill and make sure to ask about the tour!

We ate at the grill twice in our recent fall trip to Petoskey. Through our time in Petoskey, we determined that this is the only place with above "bar food" and not "gourmet" prices (Chandlers). The prices are affordable and the food is good. The grill provides for more eating options than most places in the town. The atmosphere is... More
