Description: City Park Grill, one of Petoskey’s oldest buildings, was originally constructed in 1875. McCarty Hall, as it was then known was a malesonly billiard parlor that offered cigars and “intoxicating beverages.” Today, City Park Grill maintains a loyal clientele with house-made cuisine, focusing on locally procured produce, meats and lake fish, an awardwinning wine collection and house-made biscuits straight from the oven

My parents, uncle and sister decided to stop in here for dinner the night before my wedding in Petoskey. My sister found it on her phone while searching local restaurants and none of us were disappointed! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I would definitely eat here again if I'm in the area in the future.

Service was quick and food was presented well. Hot and ready to eat. After our drinks arrived we were served warm biscuits and butter. A very nice touch.

Fish & Chips were very good. Fries were dry & tough. Eat here at least once a year, but the attraction is not the same as it was .

If you are entranced by the life and times of Ernest Hemingway, this is the place for you! The food is delicious, with a nouveau flair, while the interior design is charming. We were told that this was one of Ernest Hemingway's haunts during his stay and visits to Petosky. In fact, the original bar where he often ...dined,is still there.... More

I got the House made Short's Beer Battered Fish and Chips (Alaskan pollock); six pieces very lighted fried - delicious! It was a great value for only $8.95; the best priced lunch I have gotten being in Petoskey for a week. My husband got the home made Chicken Noodle Soup (not Campbell's); thick noodles, lots of meat with a great... More

The City Park salad is very good. Tap beers and wine are a bit pricey. Not too busy the night that we went. Good service.

Arrived for dinner on a Saturday night and was seated in the large dining room with a huge baseball team dinner in progress. We asked to move to the bar, much better ambiance. Ordered house sangria which was pale pink soda pop with no fruit. Wanted seafood chowder but it was made with chicken stock which we don't eat. Waitress... More

My wife and I joined friends for dinner at the City Park Grill. We both ordered the flank steak; mine rare, hers medium rare. On visual inspection they could not be differentiated. Both our steaks were also on the chewy side. Perhaps the chef failed to slice on the bias, as should be done with flank steak. Also, the marinade... More

Dinner entrees were $10-$20 each. My daughter really liked the chicken noodle soup and the house fries. My son ordered one of the burgers and really enjoyed it. My husband and I both ordered fish & chips which was very good. Really liked the scone biscuits that they brought before dinner. Would recommend and go back.

This is a real hold bar that Hemmingway used to visit and so some writing in. The old bar is beautiful and the entire place is worth a visit to see. The food and service were very good and I would suggest you give it a visit while shopping Petoskey. We like it a lot.
