City Park Grill, one of Petoskey’s oldest buildings, was originally constructed in 1875. McCarty Hall, as it was then known was a malesonly billiard parlor that offered cigars and “intoxicating beverages.” Today, City Park Grill maintains a loyal clientele with house-made cuisine, focusing on locally procured produce, meats and lake fish, an awardwinning wine collection and house-made biscuits straight from the oven

Old fashioned bar atmosphere

Had dinner at City Park Grill with my husband and two daughters. Large menu, good food, the service was marginal. The waitress kept forgetting things we'd asked for (and we're not a needy bunch). I had the Mustard Maple Grilled Chicken Breast - very good! I would order it again. We shared the... read more

I have eaten here on numerous occasions and have no major problems. During summer months or ski season there may be a wait for a table but it is usually not too long. In the main part of the restaurant it can be loud but in the side seating area it is quieter. Service also is dependent on the season... More

Every time I am in Petoskey I eat at City Park Grill. The food is always great. The menu has something for everyone. They have regular specials and often host live music. It really is a happening place. Check their website or call to see if they have any special events going on while you are in town. I also... More

We stopped with several friends and enjoyed a good meal together. Good variety of options and local brews. Highly recommend.

Fantastic dinner and friendly service. Fresh rolls were perfect starter. Kids menu was great, and they enjoyed drawing on the paper table cover with provided crayons. We look forward to making a return visit on our next trip.

Whenever in Petoskey I like to stop in at the City Park grill. The setting is wonderful. I love the old restaurant. It's kept up very nicely. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. The quality of the food over the years has diminished. I feel the food 5 or more years ago was better than what it is... More

We were brave and fought through terrible weather on a January night to eat out. We loved the location for this restaurant and were equally pleased with the interior. You immediately see the character of the building and feel the history. Our server could not have been warmer or more sincere. The food was excellent as well as the wine... More

City Park Grill is a wonderful and cozy restaurant appealing to couples and families. They greet with hot corn bread rolls and offer a diverse menu from steaks to fish to chicken all the way to tasty burgers. I had the White Fish and loved it. The appetizers are on the small size but tasty. My drink of choice for... More

As someone who visits this area roughly twice a year (have done so for roughly 20 years), I have specific places I consider a must visit when in town - this is one of them. I continue to enjoy the selection of menu items, diversity of customers (locals and tourists) and the atmosphere. I am not the biggest fan of... More

This is the best restaurant in Northern Michigan. My wife and I have gone there for lunches and dinners, and special events hosted by City Park and we are NEVER disappointed. Their food is top notch and their staff is friendly and courteous.
