This place was recommended to us, but I'm not sure I would return. My husbands perch was excellent, however, the waiter recommended the flank steak and I thought that is was horrible. I ate maybe 4 bites. The mashed potatoes were the only good part of the meal. I gave the restaurant 3 stars overall since the kids also likes... More

Cool historical place unique to Petoskey! Really enjoyed learning about the Ernest Hemingway connection. We were there for a early dinner on a Friday and didn't wait more than a few minutes to be seated. My husband and I both ordered steak dinners... Both were pretty good, certainly not the best we have ever had. Fairly pricey in relation to... More

We were here on a weekend night. It was crowded but the four of us were seated immediately. They gave the grandkids crayons and they could color directly on the brown paper table coverings. They thought it was great! The biscuits arrived at our table quickly and were delicious. We ordered the kids chicken fingers and fries which came out... More

Food was horrible, my daughters soup was served uncooked and cold. My 4 cheese pasta tasted worse than Kraft Mac n cheese; my sisters $9 martini arrived half full and was served to the wrong person. The worst part of our dining experience was the waiter who was Rude, arrogant and ill informed on the menu. I visit Petoskey several... More

We were visiting the area and just wanted to get a good burger somewhere....glad we ended up here! I had the Chicago Burger which was phenomenal. The meat and bun is kind of light and airy, not super dense like most places. We were there for lunch but would love to go back for dinner sometime....night time at this historical... More

We had dinner here earlier this week on a Monday night. It was a quiet evening for the restaurant, but plenty of people were still dining here. We wanted a light dinner, so we had sandwiches. They were very tasty served with coleslaw. To start, we were offered a biscuit. The meal was good, hot, and well prepared. I would... More

My wife and I ate here this evening. She had the whitefish, I had one of the chicken dishes. Her fish was prepared nicely. My chicken was over cooked. The service was just average and the atmosphere fair. It wasn't a bad meal but we won't come back.

Live the history of this place, the beautiful old bar and building. Beer selection was average with several local micro brews available. The good was solid bar food , but for the price I expect better.

I met business associates for a dinner meeting on a mid-week day. When making reservations I specifically requested a quiet corner in the restaurant so our group would be able to hold a conversation. The place was so noisy no one could hear themselves around the table. It was a wasted meeting time. Unfortunately four of the five people involved... More
