Superior Italian Restaurant

Villa Ristorante is good, and deserving of a much higher ranking among local restaurants than it is given here. When various chain outlets and sandwich shops score higher you have to question the the reviewers. I live here, by the way, and I say top 6 or 10 in Petoskey. I do agree that it is... read more

Went on Valentine's Day with family on weekend ski trip. Priced way too high for my teenage boys. (Pasta & meatballs in the mid $20s) Would not bring the 'family' again.

If you're looking for good authentic Italian food and don't mind slow and sometimes forgetful service, this is the place for you! The food was incredible, well made using fresh ingredients and the meals were clearly planned out well. However, the service was very slow and items from our order or that we asked for were forgotten several times. I... More

We met friends who had suggested this restaurant and we'd passed it many times and were intrigued to try it. We had a wonderful experience! Great service, delicious food! Best bolognese sauce we've had in ages. All six of us were more than pleased with our meal"

After driving by Villa Ristorante for years, we finally dined here and were very pleasantly surprised. VR can best be characterized as "Old World" Italian, and it offers a balanced menu with a wide array of choices, very well prepared. The staff is accommodating, eager to please, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is delicious, and in a town... More

Nice wine selection and food was ok, $132 for dinner for two not worth it . Dinners do not include soup or salad and my salad was $12.00 ! Not worth it, sorry .

The service here is terrible! My party of 8 (including 4 children) had dinner here. Immediately, the service was horrible. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes for our server to even acknowledge us. She brought our drinks then didn't come back for another 10 minutes to take our order. We did enjoy our meal...we were commenting how good... More

This was a second visit to this little gem of a place off Highway 131, though this time our adult kids were along. In our experience the food is deeply flavorful at every level. The antipasto platter is generous and loaded with unique savory flavors. The fried calamari had a different presentation (no ringlets but longer pieces of the body)... More

We had dinner here on a whim and were very glad we did. The decor was very 1960s and we hesitated but we were greeted by a friendly hostess and were seated in a quiet corner. Then our meal began. The waitress answered our questions, suggested a very nice chianti and started us with a cheese spread and bread sticks... More

Best Italian food that we have had since returning from Italy. The wine list is also spectacular. Highly recommend for those who appreciate authentic Italian and a superb wine list.
