I stumbled across "Roast & Toast" when my friend and I were visiting Petoskey for the day. So many restaurants were closed on Sunday but not "Roast & Toast." It was filled with happy customers who were really enjoying the great food and coffee. I just love the coziness of this place and how you place your order at the... More

This place is really cool. Went for lunch and had a wrap and the veggie melt, so good! They're also one of the few places that serve "proper" coffee: had an espresso and it was really good, although a pretty raw blend...this is coming from a couple of Aussies who have been craving espressos since we came to the States!!!!... My husband and I stopped here for hot chocolate on a cold winter day. They had a huge variety to choose from, and we both chose the s'mores flavor. The hot cocoa was delicious and the service was great. Prices were right as well. The kitschy decor is one of a kind.

We were hungry & looking for breakfast. We decided on just oatmeal since we did not know the place. We were sorry when we saw the dishes others were being served. The oatmeal was exceptional. Yum! Then, we ran into a couple who my husband knew from his childhood days in Birmingham. Yes, it was full of "hipsters" but we... More

Their soups are my favorite thing, big chunks, lots of flavor! The way the menu is set up in the building is ridiculous, if you've never been there you would think it's over the counter, it's not conveniently located in proximity to where you order your food. The service is so-so. But it's a bunch of teenagers, what more do... More

A friend and I stopped here enroute to Traverse City and enjoyed the lively environment, good coffee and a few fresh made pastries. Will definitely be back on our next road trip.

The coffee's good, so are the salads and sandwiches, but this place is just fun to sit in and people watch. Very, very informal. Expect noise and crowded conditions as you wait at the counter figuring out what to order. Very much feels like a good college quick eats spot.

My only complaint I can come up with is that Roast n Toast is so popular in the summer that you might not get in. Excellent food. Great quaint atmosphere. Decent prices and portions.

We visit Roast and Toast at least twice a week. Sometimes just for coffee and a bagel, other times we grab lunch as well. Great salads and homemade soups daily. Very friendly staff who remember our "regular" order-- espresso for my husband and cappuccino for me! ;-)

My wife and I had lunch here and found the food to be good. A little too hectic of an atmosphere but seemed to be cool for the younger crowd. atmosphere was like a hip college town wifi cafe. We enjoyed our soup and sandwiches, our son and his girlfriend said they really enjoyed R&T on a separate visit...
