With very few spots to eat around Paradise, this is not a bad place to stop. I have eaten breakfast here several times over the years. Always has been hot and fresh. Yes, the prices are a little higher than you would expect but then again it is in the middle of the woods. Owner has always been very friendly. More

We were recommended the Beary Patch by the waitress at the Palm Garden Restaurant ( Ernest Hemingway haunt) in Petoskey, Michigan. There isn't much in Paradise, so we decided to try the Beary Patch. The owner greeted us. When she heard one of the group was from Virginia she suggested the pastie {Pass Tee). It's an upper peninsula dish. Sort... More

Very little variety of baked goods for a bakery. Prices inflated. The baked goods however were great. Room in the restauraunt would never pass regulated occupancy for its small size and the number of people herded through its doors. More

In sheer desperation after trekking both Upper and Lower falls that day, I sat exhausted and ordered a cheeseburger. IT was frozen patty, cooked on a bun with just one little RING of onion, not a slice, one pickle slice, not catsup or mustard. Catsup was an empty bottle on the table. About ten little potato chips came with it.... More

OK, so we did go in at 12:30 and there was a table for us. We ordered a pork BBQ sandwich which should have been able to plop on a bun and a cold roast beef sandwich. She said they had green tea and we were so excited....bring us 2. I went into the gift shop to brouse and there... More

The place is busy. It's one of the few restaurants in the area. One had just stopped serving breakfast so they were swamped. They're having a hard time finding additional waitstaff so the service wasn't as quick or attentive as we would have liked. The waitstaff was very friendly, though. The breakfast was well prepared and served hot. The pastry... More

Excellent pasties and wonderful soup! We had the Lumberjack breakfast and came back for lunch. Both were very good. I had the stuffed green pepper soup/chili. I don't even like stuffed green peppers very much and this was one of the best soups I've ever eaten. Quality items in their gift shop, not junk. More

When we visited Paradise it was still early season and not all businesses were open in this small UP town. My wife found the Berry Patch on her first morning walk and we ate breakfast there twice. The food was great and the service just as good and friendly. Shirley with her cheft's hat on, kept our coffee mugs full.... More

While vacationing at Paradise Bay, we went to the Berry Patch every day for breakfast. It's a great breakfast place, right on the main street, friendly staff, delicious breakfasts, always full coffee mugs, and very reasonable prices. More
