Fresh fish from Lake Superior--Great flavor

This is a very simple, family-operated restaurant with excellent food. We had the whitefish and trout baskets with fries and cole slaw. Outstanding, fish is so fresh and well prepared. This is THE place to stop for fish when going to Whitefish point and the Shipwreck museum. Staff was friendly, the... read more

The fresh white fish from Lake Superior was excellent! Bonus, the owner stopped to chat with us and make sure everything was good. It was the best meal we had our entire trip. Great service too!

When the fish runs out, they close! Bare bones interior, great service, fish prepared either fried or broiled. Delicious cole slaw and smoked fish sides. The best fresh water fish I have ever had. Don't pass it up!

In 5 days I ate 3, 3-piece whitefish "baskets" with a baked potato and slaw. The taste, without aftertaste, is superb! The place is definitely mom-and-pop style, the servers VERY helpful and friendly. Over the last MANY years I have eaten at Brown's alone, with my elderly parents, and with my sister. We usually stay in Mackinaw City, but we... More

This is one of my favorite 'rugged adventures' - go to Whitefish Point and then before heading back to 'civilization', eat freshly caught WHITEFISH from Browns. - The waitress/manager? on duty both times we've visited seems to 'run a well-oiled machine.' - Everything is great. Whitefish is outstanding, you can even get a baked potato, which is unusual. - -... More

We had the smoked fish chowder, and both fried and broiled fish and chips using whitefish. The fish is very fresh since it is caught daily. Staff are friendly and though the interior and exterior are plain and simple, the food was excellent. A must-try for those diving through or staying at Paradise, MI especially after visiting Whitefish Point!

There were two tables of customers and two waitresses. Our waitress was friendly and nice but was having her one o'clock lunch and working a crossword puzzle. We both had an edible small cup of smoked fish chowder with oyster crackers. We shared a two piece fish and chips. The chips weren't very good, the slaw was very tasty. The... More

We stopped in after visiting Taquemenon Falls. Had heard nothing but good things about this place. Wow, if you want fresh whitefish, this is the place to go!! The waitress said it was just caught at 11:00 that morning!! We had the 3 PC whitefish basket. Very large pieces! The taste was so fresh and amazing! Also, we had the... More

I've been here a few times and it is by far the best whitefish I have ever had. Fresh and delicious. Nice portions and a good value as well. A must stop if you are in Paradise.
