It's been a long time since we last ate here but it's like running into an old friend after many years. Warm and friendly, It's probably been 4 or 5 years since our last visit. Sometimes it's just outright relaxing to return to a place and find that just hasn't changed too much (other than prices) over the years. Our... More

My wife and I always enjoy stopping at Fischer's while touring the Leelanau Peninsula. This visit was no different. After being seated, our server, Kelly, was prompt to take our order. We were in a rush so we ordered a cup of the soup of the day, lobster bisque. Our drinks and soup were promptly served. The soup was very... More

A cute, little bar/restaurant right on the side of the road. Unassuming, but clean, nice service, decent bar food. One stall bathrooms, but again, a little roadside stop on the way into Northport. Really enjoyed meeting the staff, great little up north stop!

The Happy Hour (aka Fischers) has charmed me since the first time I visited - back in early 1970's. Back then (and for many years) it was smoke-filled but worth it for a delicious burger or fish dinner. My most recent visit revealed some changes: there's a great outdoor dining area - sunny but with umbrellas for shade. Saw a... More

Happy Hour has been a summer staple in my family for years. In fact, a summer just doesn't seem complete without a dinner at Happy Hour! This year was no exception. While the food was pretty much as good as usual, the service was truly awful. The "hostess" and our waitress were not at all welcoming, were minimally accommodating and... More

This place has been around for over 40 years. Nice old bar with local color and flavor. Great burgers, fried chicken, fried clams, homemade pie. Good service and nice people. Be sure to stop on your way to or from Leland!

On the road along the way this place was fun. Waited 20 min for a table at dinner and had a burger and a beer. Just a neat place that you want to stop at for a quick bite.

We had dinner here on our way home last night after being in Northport. The clam chowder had good flavor, but very few clams. The burgers were up to standard, but the wine prices have steadily gone up over the years. I felt that in this kind of a setting, $28 for a bottle of Alamos Malbec is a bit... More

Good food, friendly service. Atmosphere relaxed & inviting. Had the perch & shrimp dinners. Good portions. Sweet potato fries were delicious!

Stop by and grab a burger and an ice cream puff with the chocolate caramel sauce- what a comfort. This is a fun place to go and warm up after the ice caves or traveling through on 22. This is an authentic Northern Michigan experience. Check it out.
