There is something cozy about this place. My husband and I came here a few years ago when we stayed in fishtown. We wanted to see if it had changed. It hadn't (which is a good thing). My husband ordered the veggie sandwich and a side of onion rings. He though both were fine. I ordered the perch sandwich and... More

Stopped in last Monday night, our first night in town after flying in to Traverse City and made the long-ish drive to Fischer's Happy Hour for the chicken noodle soup I remember so fondly. Last time I visited was probably 16-17 years ago and it was just as I remembered! Food and atmosphere hasn't changed which is great to see... More

True North character, warmth, friendly, fun and most importantly "what can I get you"? atmosphere. Food's well prepared and the pie is a must have!!!! Get a Moscow mule served in one if their cool tin cups. Delicious!

We have included a meal at the Happy Hour every time we have gone Up North for a couple of decades. We used to eat the burgers which were great but the last couple of years we have shifted to the fish due to our aging bodies and high cholesterol. We try to go on Fridays as they have a... More

Built in an unplanned trip to "The Happy Hour" for a very quick bite to eat. And as always it never disappoints. The season ended the day before so it was quite nice with just a few people. We both ordered their hand pattied burger: 1/3rd pound of freshly ground sirloin, perfectly cooked and served on a toasted sesame seed... More

We wanted to travel to some different areas around our cabin to eat. In looking up places we found Fischers. In entering the cozy restaurant we met right away. However, the dinning area was so packed they had us sitting in a corner in the back room. I felt like a kid who had been sent tot eh principal's office.... More

This restaurant is a long time local favorite with lines of customers waiting to get in and making getting a parking space, at least in summer, a challenge. The whitefish we had was tasty though not exceptional at about $18 per entree. Unfortunately, the service provided was inferior and I don't blame this on the waitstaff. From our experience, management... More

Haven't been here in a long time but the food was excellent, the wait staff attentive, and the entire staff friendly. Would highly recommend.

It's been a long time since we last ate here but it's like running into an old friend after many years. Warm and friendly, It's probably been 4 or 5 years since our last visit. Sometimes it's just outright relaxing to return to a place and find that just hasn't changed too much (other than prices) over the years. Our... More

My wife and I always enjoy stopping at Fischer's while touring the Leelanau Peninsula. This visit was no different. After being seated, our server, Kelly, was prompt to take our order. We were in a rush so we ordered a cup of the soup of the day, lobster bisque. Our drinks and soup were promptly served. The soup was very... More
