We were seated immediately. Our waitres took our order and brought our drinks. Then we waited...and waited. Forty-five minutes later our tasty food arrived. I might eat here again, but I will bring a book or something to occupy myself.

We were staying in town for the night after visiting the falls in the UP. I called to ask when they closed and were told, "Oh about 9 or 9:30". Gotta love the different pace of life up there! We had already decided to eat here based on Tripadvisor reviews. The hotel also recommended this place. I was not overwhelmed... More

We rolled in super late into town, and Charlie's was already closed, but seeing as we had no other option they stayed open for us! The frill was down, but the fryer was hot and ready, so we ended up having some of the best Fish and Chips on the lake! We washed it all down with excellent porter, all... More

We ordered a chicken breast sandwich w/ fries & a french dip. Both sandwiches tasted fine but it took forever for our food to come out & when it finally did my fries were cold so I sent them back. New ones were brought out quickly. From start to finish we were in there for about 90 mins for what... More

This place was a rare find. Needed a place to stop for dinner on our way from Whitefish Point to Munising, but the options in the Upper Peninsula were surprisingly limited. Saw this place on the main street of this small town of Newberry, and liked that there were customers. When we walked in, we found the eating area filled... More

They make a real roasted turkey sandwich we both like! They changed the channel on the t.v. for us and had a full selection of good beers. Lots on the menu.

The other reviews of this establishment are pretty accurate. We were the last customers served as the place apparently closes around 9 PM. Lots of food! I had cod plate...three pieces of cod, battered and friend...very good. spouse had fried shrimp which he said were also good. Mixed vegetables were fresh and nicely spiced. Onion rings were good. Good stopping... More

We found Timber Charlie's by chance returning to our condo after a visit to the Shipwreck Museum in Whitefish Point MI and Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls. It is a local restaurant with good, adequate food, including the famous "Yooper" pasties. Our group feasted on chicken Alfredo, fish and chips, Kobe beef burger and a pasty. The servers were very... Our group of 30+ dogsledders enjoyed the food and fun at this local favorite. They were ready for us, and service was great.
