We go to MI every year & always stop at Rios. This time twice! Everything is so fresh & tasty. Portions are gigantic.
Fresh ingredients, choice of corn or flour tortillas...and the best guacamole and chips within 75 miles. Authentic roadside fast food. No frills eat on picnic table outside, in your car.. or take it home. Genuine old fashion soda pop (from Mexico) made with real cane sugar and not Fructose corn syrup. Not fancy, just good and fast. Forget Taco Bell...Real... More
Ordered carryout at this roadside taco stand for a quick dinner and was very satisfied with the meal. We ordered off the ala carte menu and got the Jr burrito with steak (which is huge), the chicken quesadilla, two chicken flautas, and a small side of guacamole. We were very pleased with everything. Although my quesadilla was more like a... More
We've been coming to New Buffalo/Union Pier for 20+ years and we always make a stop at Rios. The quesadillas, homemade chips & guacamole are great! Rios is what it is--a local joint that serves fresh & delicious Mexican food. Want table cloths and strolling mariachi bands? Head somewhere else. We love Rios just as it is--nice and simple.
They were out of horchata the last time I was there, but they usually have it. They do prepare food without cilantro for those of us who don't like the taste of dirty dishwater. The food is bountiful. A burrito is a meal. The price was high.
After all the raves on tripadvisor I had high hopes for the food, not the atmosphere. We were there on a sunny day in spring and ordered a few options to see what we liked best. The food was fresh, possibly authentic, but flavorless. Three different options all tasted identical. The fish taco was the best option, but bland too.... More
Food is good and relatively inexpensive. nothing fancy here - but the food is consistently good. I did get a hair in a burrito once, that soured me on the place for a little while - but have been back since and has been good. I stick to the ala carte menu as the rice and beans are alright but... I stopped here on the first day of a weekend getaway in the area. The fish tacos, guacamole, and homemade salsa are all so delicious! The quesadilla was unique in that it was fried with the cheese on the grill. OMG Yum! Also, their tortillas and tortilla chips are so fluffy and homemade! Came back before the drive home-just as... Drive up into the small parking lot, or place your order via the drive-thru. The list is long of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and the like. Meats for the tacos include: pork, beef, steak, and chicken. All are served up with the usual rice and beans, salsas of varying heat levels. In the Summer sit at picnic tables with folks you... More
If you like authentic Mexican, this place will rub shoulders with the best of 'em. The owners are from the Rio Grand Valley in South Texas, and that's good enough for me. If you eat vegetarian, the options are plentiful: fish tacos, veggie tacos, burritos, or veggie tostada, most of which aren't on the menu. Just ask. For hot sauce,... More
