We decided to try Skip's after a tasting at St. Julian Winery in Union Pier, MI. The knowledge that they served local wines, made our decision easier. We were greated by a friendly, and curteous manager and staff. There is an "All you can eat, Buffett " offered that included, oysters, king crab, etc. for a reasonable price, but we... More

Skip's Restaurant on Red Arrow Highway in New Buffalo - Thursday night is build your own burger night. It's been a long time coming, but Cathie and I went there tonight (03/28). The beef burgers are made from a blend of beef tenderloin, New York Strip, and prime rib meats - 8-oz of it! I had a beef burger with... More

We had dinner here on a Saturday night. They were very busy. We had made reservations and were seated right away. Our server had a very large party next to us, but was still very attentive to us and we received great service. The buffet was offered that night. It was a great value if you like crab, shrimp, etc.... More

Had an awesome 18th year anniversary dinner. Rhonda and Marci were so sweet and super attentive. They took pics for our celebration and made us feel so welcomed. Skips was one of our highlights of our lil getaway to Union Pier. BTW, thanks for talking me into the lava brownie...yummm! And I am no longer a prime rib virgin..;~}. Wil... More

Went on a Saturday night. Not greeted right away but when server appeared we were seated. Kind of older crowd and a bit stuffy. Very quiet at first and slightly awkward for such a large space. Waitress was slow but attentive. Missed a few things on the menu. Offered different sides to different people at the table. Wife had the... More

I admit, I didn't have high expectations when we decided on Skips for Mothers Day dinner. The atmosphere is dark & the decor is older. However, the food was good & reasonably priced. It's not become a tradition for us when we visit but I'm not opposed to going there if the opportunity arises.

Skip's harkens back to the days of the supper club...where you feel like you have friends in the kitchen, serving your meal, and hosting you. My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed it from start to finish. He had a steak...which was a beauty...and I had the prime rib...the smallest cut...which was still huge....juicy and flavorful.... More

On recommendation from several friends, I visited Skip's with the spouse for some prime rib and we weren't disappointed. Between the included soup, salad, side, and bread basket, the modest cut left us with leftovers. The prime rib was excellent, despite the fact that they overcooked my piece to medium instead of medium rare; I don't like to send food... More

Visited Skip's this past Sunday and had another great experience. I had the filet and my wife and the prime rib and both were excellent. You get both soup and salad with your meal as well bread. Service was very good and everything came out hot. Skip's is an excellent restaurant and it's worth the trip.
