A time honored, top notch place to have an intimate evening or share time and fun with friends. No matter what you order you will not be disappointed. The servings are large, and the recipes which are used for the soup are renowned? Sandwiches are stacked and the perch has a delicious almond crust. Staff is longstanding, professional and friendly.... More

I decided to escape here for an afternoon cocktail and app. I ended up getting the pork belly with potent small plate again. It was better than the first time. The alcohol was a little expensive but you get what you pay for!

The food here is really delicious and unique. I have been here several times and it never disappoints the presentation of the food is really beautiful. Some of my favorite dishes: Pan Seared Sesame Ahi Tuna with Two Sauces, Wienerschnitzel with Yukon Gold Potato Puree, Spinach Tagliatelle Pasta with Artichokes, Wild Mushrooms and Roasted Chicken, and Steak and Crab Cake... The Hearthstone is an old friend. They cater our Saturday dinner for the International Buster Keaton Convention every October, and my husband and I celebrate our anniversary there before we head back home (we had our pre-wedding dinner there back in 2007, and have dined there as a couple every year since). We never regret this choice. That cheesy soup?... More

What can you say about a laid -back casual dinning experience! Food was out of this world and the French onion and corn chowder soups were delicious! Not a dinning experience for someone on the run. You need to have the time to savor the flavors. Well presented, and pleasing to the eye! So much to choose from on the... More

This restaurant, and its sibling, the Brownstone at the Muskegon Airport, has long been noted for its soups and sandwiches incorporating unusual ingredients. Located in a motel and feeling slightly subterranean, the place has an understated European ambiance, and can accommodate groups by reservation. Most memorable are its unique baked breads, exotic cheeses, homemade relishes, and rich soups made from... More

I want to start by saying I am not generally a soup fan, but the soup here is the best I have ever had. I sampled the Wisconsin Cheddar and the Pumpkin soup and both were fantastic. Sandwiches are very good, too, but generously sized. A half-sandwich is plenty. Bloody Mary was also very good...one of the better ones I... More

Back to the small towns in Italy. Back to the street dining in Lyon. The Hearthstone makes me think of travel and food and comfort. I love the outdoor venue! And I feel cozy and well-fed inside. Frank and Gina create the food and the ambiance that keeps their customers coming back.
