We use to live in the area and this was our first visit to the Hearthstone in quite awhile. Everything was delicious, expertly prepared and nicely presented...we sampled three soups (available upon request), had wonderful warm bread followed by a tasty field greens salad with blue cheese, cherries pecans etc. to which we added a grilled chicken breast. The spinach Tagliatelle... This is a favorite of ours although, we do not eat out often this is a 1st rate choice. Would recommend anything on the menu as ALL is done to perfection. A must try for any out of state traveler as well as locals. Would say get there early for seating as crowded on weekends especially in the summer months.... More

Wonderful soups, salads, and sandwiches. Much more relaxing and comfortable than many of the chain and casual dining restaurants. I have never been dissatisfied.

Always something good or new to try even after years of experience here. Hand crafted soups, unusal appetisers, I love the crab cakes. Half a sandwich and a cup of soup is a great lunch. Portions are large so beware if ordering a full salad, bowl of soup, and full sandwich. You won't have room for dessert!

While the Cheddar and French Onion soups are amazing, so is the entire menu. Serve staff are actually trained and do an outstanding job. The Chef is a true miracle worker and is something isn't correct ... well it doesn't get served. Very cozy atmosphere and a genuine dining pleasure! I wish I could give this venue 10 stars! And... This is one of my favorite places in town when we go and sit down to eat. We have had take out here several times and there is always something wrong with it, they say 10-15 min and 40 min later its not ready so they just through it together and you get what you get. I think they have... More

The night we dined at Hearthstone, there was a special - two pastas and two salads at a great price! Excellent value! Both dishes were excellent. Great choices for dessert! Service was excellent. Our server helped up pick out a restaurant for our second night. Best Cheddar Soup EVER! When you are in the Midwest, Cheddar Soup! Topped with cheddar... More

This restaurant had stellar food and great service. It was very much the opposite of what I had experienced elsewhere in Muskegon. Since most of Muskegon is quite a dump I was surprised to find a gem like this that was even better than most of the restaurants I go to back home. If you are looking for a good... More

This restaurant has never failed to produce consistently excellent meals. The parking lot is filled every evening so it's obvious that others have seen the same. Meals are slightly more than you would pay in an average restaurant. I've never been disappointed by a meal at the Hearthstone.
