Excellent lunch for a very cold day

We were in Ribeauville on the first Sunday of the Christmas market--packed with visitors on a cold, cloudy day. We were in Ribeauville on the first Sunday of the Christmas market--packed with visitors on a cold, cloudy day. We had intended to eat street food, but after several hours of wandering about and seeing how crowded the stalls had become, we opted for this restaurant--a place to sit, warm, with restroom facilities. So many restaurants to choose from as well as great market stalls during the fantastic Medieval Christmas market, this was quite simply a perfect choice. Food was clearly prepared by the restaurant themselves. Unbelievably delicious! Very pleasant service despite the rush of the Christmas market crowd. If you have time for a single measl in Ribbeauville go her, if you... More

Visited earlier this week and stopped in just because it was open. I ordered the potatoes au gratin (how can you not love a place where they give you bubbling hot potatoes with cheese and bacon as a main course?) with a green salad and a glass of Pinot Gris and it was FANTASTIC. Many of the other patrons made... More

We were two persons visiting this restaurant. Got a table close to the door and it was not good. It was cold outside and we were freezing a bit. It was only one person serving that day so it took some time to get the Food. The Food was ok, but not more... Strange that this is no one in... More

Visited this restaurant based an reviews and sat outside as was a hot evening. Ordered veal and their traditional Baeckeoffe after which the restaurant is named. Both were great and the service good too. Added excitement when a sudden thunderstorm forced a hasty retreat indoors!

An excellent place to stop for a lunch of good traditional Alsacienne cuisine. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.

We needed to get out of the rain so ducked in here for a lunch with no great expectations. We received a warm welcome and was impressed with the alsacienne menu with all the regional favourites. Very good food, excellent service -- a great find.

After a disappointing lunch we chose this restaurant based on the other review found in here. We arrived at 9pm for dinner but unfortunately half of the menu was already finished and there was no much choice left. The table wasn’t stable and after a while it started to be very annoying the shifting from one leg to the other.... More

my bf, who is a great cook and extremely discerning, loved this place. the owner/cook(?) walks around and asks people how things are so it's very intimate it's tiny so be sure to make reservations.

Was there for dinner in 8/2013. The restaurant is really nice and simple looking, handled calmly by a single waitress, that managed to do everything. And the food, oh... As a starter we had salad with melted goat cheese, that was amazing. For the main course the waitress suggested the two house specialties. One was the Baeckeoffe, and the other... More
