Lunch on the go

Fun place to visit with a limited menu. Their sign says it all so only go if that's what you want to eat. Very flavorful dogs and came recommended by a local.

I grew up with Monroe's Original and I always make time to stop by for a few dogs "all the way" when I'm home. These are a Monroe staple and a place you have to visit when coming for a visit. Don't forget the home made root beer too!

This place was fantastic!! I would have never even knew it existed but for some irregular events that required me to return a rental car... at any rate this little place is a must stop if you have the time. Very quaint and servers were super friendly. We asked for a menu and they told us it was "hot dogs,... More

Many locals rave about the chili dogs served at Monroe Originals, but their taste buds may be damaged. The chili on the dog looks and tastes too ketchupy. The rest of the menu items: burgers, fries, onion rings, and whatnot taste fine. And, their car hops serve the food quickly and with minimal hassle.

It is a local institution...no frills...just great hot dogs, chips and root beer. We usually stop in once a week when they are open for some delicious dogs :)

1st off, I'm from out of town and this was my first trip here....so I'm not a local reviewing this that grew up with it. I ordered two chili dogs and a root beer. Order was wrong at first, they corrected promptly. The quality....that's my issue. Tasted like a water dog with no flavor. What you do taste is the... More

I grew up loving these chili dogs, back when they were 15 cents each! The recipe has not changed since this place opened up over 50 years ago. The hot dog itself tastes the same, the bun is steamed, and the chili sauce -- I'm not sure what it is, but I have never tasted a chili dog like this... More

My husband planned a fun day trip and picked out this awesome place for lunch. I love kitchy places and when I saw it was a drive up I was excited. Can't beat the chili dogs and homemade root beer served on trays hooked to your car window! I know we'll go back!! Yummy!!

This secret recipe chili is killer man! They should be winning every award available from the Food Network and beyond! All they serve are dogs and rootbeer! Worth a trip no matter where you are coming from!

I don't normally eat hot dogs but when I do have the taste for a chili dog this is the only place I go. With the car hops and the same building I remember as a child it is truly the best hot dog and root beer in Monroe
