Slim's is one of the places my brother recommended for breakfast. He always knows where to go! The French toast is good and my husband says the blueberry pancakes are the best! I had a cinnamon roll today. It was just the right size, with the right amount of raisins and frosting. It taste just... read more

Stopped in for lunch on the trail and ran into nice little bakery/diner. Had a giant pasty lunch that I couldn't finish and waitstaff seemed to know every person in the joint. Bakery items looked really nice even though I passed. I will definitely stop in again on my next trip in a few weeks. Just good down home diner... More

If you want a great breakfast Slim's is the place to go. The cinnamon French toast is worth ordering. Bakery fresh cinnamon bread is used. The pies and turnovers are worth the trip for sure.

Nice place to stop for breakfast to start an early mornig excursion in the Keweenaw. A plentiful menu with good food and excellent service. My only downside were the cinamon rolls which looked good but were day-old and tasteless.

We go once a year to Slims, while visiting the U.P. We go just for the hot beef sandwiches. They are so good. Along with real potatoes & homemade gravy I believe the bread is homemade as well. It is very good. They have homemade pies as well. I tried the blueberry and it was yummy. I can honestly say,... More

My wife and I each had the "mini-breakfast" - egg, bacon, thick toast, two pancakes - generous! We enjoyed the friendly service. A nice, comfortable cafe!

Stopped by here on my recent U.P. vacation. Food was top-notch and the service was even better. Burgers were good sized and fries were tasty. Had some excellent soup also. Unfortunately, that left me too full to try the pies. Several varieties were offered--maybe next time.
