Stopped by here on my recent U.P. vacation. Food was top-notch and the service was even better. Burgers were good sized and fries were tasty. Had some excellent soup also. Unfortunately, that left me too full to try the pies. Several varieties were offered--maybe next time.

Slim's Cafe & Bakery is a beloved Copper Country restaurant just across from the White House (not THAT White House, lol) in little Mohawk, Michigan, just off US-41 in Keweenaw County. We enjoyed sitting at the counter, surrounded by the appetizing aroma of pies, cookies and other delectable baked goods. Super friendly staff makes you feel at home as you... More

They have great food, the breakfasts are very generous portions. The owner and waitress, Suzy is a riot. We really got a kick out of her!

Nothing fancy..... Eggs to order and the way you order them, coffee refills without asking and fast and courteous service. What more could you ask for in a breakfast joint. Try their biscuits and gravy for a special breakfast treat.

Our family stopped here Saturday morning for a late breakfast. It was a full house and not usual for that time of day(?!) so waited ridiculously long for our food. Friendly staff, more expensive breakfast prices than area, great homemade cooking.

We've stopped in Slim's Cafe at least one time we visit the Upper Peninsula for the last seven years. The food has been consistently good, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yes, it is a little pricy, but if you head to the grocery store in Calumet, you'll see everything up here is pricy! Their turkey on Sundays is fabulous. It isn't... More

Slim's is known for their Sunday turkey dinner! It is one of the best in the area. The food is very tasty and the portions are generous. They have a great menu. Their roast beef is also excellent. The staff is usually up beat.

We went to Slims based on a local's recommendation. When we got there early in the morning, it seemed to have a lot of regular's in there eating and chatting. As we looked at the menu, the prices seemed fairly high for breakfast. We all ordered something different. I had a Western omelet which was the best thing at the... More

Slim's is an occasional stop of ours. The food is always very good. We especially love their breakfasts. Service is fine, although not necessarily outstanding. We do think the prices are a little high. They run about $1.50-$2.00 higher per breakfast than the similar item at any of the other restaurants in the area. But, the food is good enough... More
