Have tried this restaurant several times. Usually for breakfast which has never met expectations. Chefs unfamiliar with soft scrambled eggs present an unpalatable fried version of poorly mixed eggs. When visiting for lunch the waitress ignored telling us the specials while we struggled to find something worthwhile from the menu. The French Onion Soup was EXCELLENT. But Beet salad appeared... Had a business dinner here, skipped the appetizer to save room for desert. The salmon I ordered was nicely cooked and the sides were tasty. If only they fixed this house salad of theirs. Just a few leaves of cheap lettuce wit tomato. Really out of tune to the rest of the food. No imagination! The Desert was nice as... More

We are from the area and have had many nice meals here. Last visit was not one of those. Our waitress in training was nice, however, her "supervisor" was efficient to the point of rudeness. The soup was very good seafood chowder, but the meal went downhill from there. Filet ordered as the evening's special was so-so and not very... More

There's really nothing like it in the tri-city area. It's always a special dining experience. A great place for lunch too. The servers are always very attentive and friendly without hovering or inappropriate. Just excellent service. The food is different from the usual fare. I had a wonderful Pumpkin/apple quiche for lunch. It was served with a small salad and... More

Small, charmy with great food, not too much variety but all dishes are hight quality and great combinations. Bit pricy but it worth each penny.

Mid-Michigan is now known for French provincial restaurants, but Cafe Zinc fits the bill nicely. Attached to the H Hotel (not reviewed) the Cafe provides good food and a wonderful atmosphere. The seating area is not large, but well appointed with a fireplace and unique lighting. The food was fine with a good selection. Might be a bit pricey but... More

Considering the over abundance of chain restaurants in Midland I am thrilled to have this option. The food is tasty, not necessarily amazing, but the atmosphere plays into the experience as well. A go to for a group of foodie friends in the area.

This is a welcome respite from the chain restaurants that are the usual options in Midland. Yes it's a bit more expensive but at least it's real food and the dishes are interesting combinations.

Good food but over priced and pretentious. In a major metro , this would be 3 star, they feel they are the 5 star locally.
