Description: For over 100 years, Schuler's Restaurant & Pub has kept it in the family...
For over 100 years, Schuler's Restaurant & Pub has kept it in the family - and beaten the odds. How rare is this achievement? According to Family Business Review more than 30 percent of all family-owned businesses survive into the second generation. Twelve percent will still be viable into the third generation, with three percent of all family businesses operating at the fourth-generation level and beyond. Schuler's, a four-generation, family-owned restaurant in Marshall, Michigan is an institution. Schuler's attributes its longevity to the foresight of our founder and the succeeding family members who have used their entrepreneurial skills to build a 100-year tradition of hospitality and fine dining.

A classic nice restaurant off I 94

I had the daily special walleye fish for dinner and it was very good. My companions had the Schuler steak and they both said it was excellent. There is some deal that if your eat the Schuler cut and finish it you can get another steak. You need to ask the manager though as it is such and old... read more

On our way back from Flint, MI I suggested we stop for lunch at an often mentioned (but never visited by me) Schuler's Restaurant. As it was, my husband and his brother ate lunch at Schuler's 50 years ago. They actually had a table next to a gentleman that engaged them in conversation...it turned out to be Mr. Win Schuler.... My wife and I love Schulers. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here back in 2011, went a few days ago and it's still terrific!! The meatballs are to die for, the Swiss Onion Soup is rich and flavorful, and the Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. We try to go to Schuler's everytime we visit Michigan.

We ate at Schuler's on a busy Saturday night. We had made reservations so we were seated right away. The noise level in the dining room was so high we could barely hear each other. The wine list is not that extensive and they were out of the wine I wanted. The Schuler classic salad was excellent but before I... More

A bus tour to Marshall Historic Homes Tour led us to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Food appeared to be sitting awhile and not as fresh as it could have been but being a large party I suppose it was their best effort. A bit disappointed with that otherwise the annoying flies were a pain. Over all a... More

The main dining room is huge and filled with excellent wait staff to make you meal a pleasurable one. The fresh pecan crusted trout and stuffed brie chicken were delicious and quite large portions. The meals were extremely hot when served and the wait staff was attentive throughout the entire meal. It was great to see so many large families... More

Schuler's has been in Marshall for many many years. Generations of people have enjoyed this long time favorite. But setting aside the nostalgia, Shulers is really past its prime. The restaurant, menu and overall atmosphere feels outdated and out of touch. Prices are high, food is average. It is a place to take your grandparents for Mothers Day Brunch but... More

We stopped for lunch, and while I find the menu a bit overpriced, it is a lovely restaurant with a long history (which they may be banking on a little too much). We shared a sampler platter, which is plenty for two people. It came with carrots and celery that looked and felt as though it had been cut up... More

Staying one night in Marshall. Discovered Schuler's and arrived at the pub after nine. I was greeted warmly by my server, and had a great local brew and chicken dinner.

Years ago you could find Win Schuler's throughout Michigan. Now I believe that the original is all that remains. I sat in the restaurant side of the place. This is full service with all that implies. It is meant for a leisurely meal and the prices are in the $20 range for an entree. I had two appetizers that I... More
