Unique restaurant

We decided to try Lagniappe after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. I'm glad we tried it - very unique. My husband had the red beans and rice; I had the low country shrimp and grits - both were very good.

Don't. Miss. This. Place. Outstanding Cajun food on the Upper Peninsula. Extensive selection of food and drink. Even though we were on vacation we ordered enough food (gumbo, bisque, hush puppies, jambalaya, red beans & rice and etouffee) for two meals and, as a result, had the privilege of eating Lagniappe leftovers the next night. Their food is really, really,... More

Needed a place to eat dinner tonight .Was suggested to eat here. Gave it a shot not a big Cajun person but the food was excellent. Service was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere inside was clean and nice . I wish I wasn't on business I saw a band setting up which looked good also. Definitely will recommend to... More

On a tour of the upper peninsula, I ended up in Marquette. I had received numerous recommendations for dinner so I headed out toward those options when I happened upon Lagniappe. I'm so glad I did! The minute I walked down their staircase and heard the creole band playing (complete with harmonica and washboard), I knew I had to check... More

We've always loved Lagniappe and we're excited to eat there again. We ordered our standard- baked seafood fondue and boiled shrimp. The shrimp were huge and amazing like we expected. The fondue however, was not hot and was thick and lumpy, as if over thickened. This is usually my favorite item on the menu, but if today wa steph fist... More

We dine there often when we are in the area. It is only accessible via stairways, and not accessible for those using wheelchairs, which is too bad. I like the oysters but you can't always get them. Not sure why, as another establishment in the area carries them all the time. Good decor with an extensive menu.

Hi gniedermaier, my name is Rob and I am the Front of the House manager here at Lagniappe. We thank you for your kind words. As to our access for wheelchairs, we only rent our space so we have no say in adding additional handicap access. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. On to the oyster question. We get... I've been here many times. In fact, it's one of my top 3 places in Marquette that I recommend to everyone. After this last experience, I probably wont recommend it again. I've spent my 30th birthday here and many other special occasions after that with large groups. I know they don't take reservations, so we've waited close to 2 hours... More

Hello Christine, my name is Rob and I am the Front of the House manager here at Lagniappe. Let me first apologize for your poor experience on your last visit. There was a miscommunication between our staff on how checks are to be split up. We recognized this and have since reconciled the discrepancy. We strive to offer the best... More

We chose to try out this restaurant based on the fact that they were rated highly on findmeglutenfree.com (my son has a gluten intolerance) and also highly on T.A. We were not disappointed. The menu has so many good choices, even the gluten free menu had a ton of great choices. My son (10) had his first gator and was... More
