You've got to try this place. The wait staff was great. Very attentive. There was a live band playing music that fit the creole theme. Not too loud. Very enjoyable. Food was excellent. The experience was so fun and a great change from standard steakhouse. It was recommended over all other places from an employee at our hotel. Great choice!

We had been to Marquette a few times and had always skipped this place. NEVER AGAIN. We loved it. Service, atmosphere, and food were all top notch. Now I am not an expert on Cajun food, but what we had was delicious. We started with the hush puppies, and I highly recommend you do the same. They were awesome. I... More

I love to give true reviews and try to take some of the initial emotion out of the experience and I typically wait a few days before posting. With that being said, the few days are up and this place still ROCKS! We have been here before and each time it surpasses our expectations. You will be hard pressed to... More

This restaurant is in an odd location, but worth the effort. A good variety of food, with interesting local touches (e.g. Rhubard bread pudding) thrown in.

First, you have to get past the first impression. That, after walking through the front door into a dark hallway, you walk down dark stairs, and enter into the dimly lit restaurant. But then you are greeted with the sounds of happy people. Happy both for the fine service, and the excellent food. The menu offers both a wide variety... More

We had been going here for several years. Then, within the last two years the restaurant took a turn for the worse. Already high prices increased, portion sizes decreased, wait staff service degraded. Food quality also suffered IMHO. Why should it take 40 minutes to get your meal when the place isn't that busy? We cannot recommend this establishment.

Hello William, my name is Rob and I am the Front of the House manager here at Lagniappe. I first would like to apologize for your poor experience. You mention decreased portion size. I can assure you that none of our portions have been altered in the least. We also haven't increased our menu prices in several years. You also... More

Stopped by on a Thursday night. The place is not easy to find, but well worth the search. This place has genuine Cajun cooking. I had the BBQ Shrimp which is not grilled but cooked like a stew you take the shrimp and pop off the heads and peel them and then dunk them with the liquid to get all... More

I adore cajun cuisine and this fun little restaurant did not disappoint! Try the Catfish Ponchartrain---it's delicious!

You gotta look for this place...but once you find it you will return. Lagniappe is one of the UP's special eateries. My wife and I share the order which makes it, in my opinion, the best plate of food in the Upper Peninsula. We order the Crab Cakes (with white sauce only...trust me, it is delicious), the shrimp and bow... More
