After waiting, standing, for 40 minutes, we were finally seated. We ordered the fish special but found that to not be the best thing. The fish was soggy, along with the onion rings, and nothing was very hot. The prices were a lot higher than I expected I will not be visiting this restaurant again

We stopped here for dinner after a day of biking and beaching and we're glad we did. I was worried we might be underdressed but shorts and caps were more than fine. The food was amazing!!!! They had tons of local beers on tap. The only suggestion would be to improve their wine list. The selection was very sad for... More

Accolades to both our waitress and the kitchen. Ordered the highly recommended breadsticks with the cheese spread for an appetizer. They were a delicious beginning to a delightful meal. The southwest tortilla encrusted whitefish with a chipotle lime sauce was delicate and flavorful. The entree included seasonal veg and a potato of choice. The made-from-scratch cream of mushroom soup was... More

The place was busy and a wait for a table. Yet I am not sure if they specialize in something and I missed out on that. Our meal was nothing special.

Host/manager didn't have an open five top so he seated my parents at a two seater booth and me and my sisters sat at a table. Slightly older waitress was very kind/helpful but slow. It was a very busy night though! I had the fish fry special. Soup was French onion which was awesome. Onion rings were crispy and fish(cod)... More

I got to the restaurant just 10 minutes before closing, but was welcomed in. A few tables were still occupied. I debated about ordering the whitefish and the filet, but chose the fish, taking the servers suggestion. I am glad, the fish was outstanding. Not just fresh, but a nice sized portion that had enough thickness to ensure it would... More

Got there just in time, the place was packed, we follow the crowds for food and beverages, and The Portside is just our kind of place!! Fast, fresh, friendly and happy, and that's JUST the staff! We had a GREAT meal...have NO problem telling EVERYONE where to go, as long as they wind up at The Portside!

Each time we wander up to Marquette we make sure we can stop at the Portside for lunch or dinner. The service this past weekend was fantastic, the fish fry great and the atmosphere is unique in that it is a tiny place filled with the "atmosphere of Lake Superior". The breadsticks for fantastic and I'm not a breadstick lover.... More
