Only live two hours from Marquette and travel here often and have never been to the Portside! Decided to try a "new" restaurant. Read the reviews... I have to agree the breadsticks are great the made from scratch soups also very good! I had the antipasto salad and my husband had an Italian sandwich HUGE portions. Everything on the menu... More

There were people seated outside and a full house upon entering. We were told 25 minute wait for both inside and outside. It was definitely worth it. We had the fish fry for 9.95. The fish, fries and onion rings were all very good. The salad and clam chowder were also yummy. They serve local beers here as well as... More

We were there on a Friday night so of course my husband got the beer-battered cod. It was white and flaky and tasty. I was told they had good pizza but it came undercooked and bland. Do try the blueberry hard cider (if its being offered) supreme taste!

Always popular and always a wait. One of the locals favorite bars and grills. Great food and atmosphere. Outside dining in the warmer weather.

My favorite go-to place in Marquette. Great dimly lit, nautical-themed interior provides nice atmosphere. There's outdoor seating in the summer, as well. The happy hour draft beer specials are as good as it gets for craft beer--the Portside happy hour is an institution for NMU grad students and many locals. The nachos are enormous and extremely good. A great deal... More

I was amazed to read the reviews for this restaurant. We dined here a week ago, as we were staying at the marina, and it is walking distance. We ordered the special, which included a steak, pasta with pesto and vegetables. The steak was very tender but needed salt, pepper and seasonings. The pasta was overcooked and the pesto, again... While in Marquette we ate at the Portside in for something different. Food was good and waitress was friendly. Its a cute little bar but not a lot of seating. The hambergers were very good at a very good price. Good place for a quick bite if your not looking for a large menu.
