Nice view, good food

I was in the area, and thought I would swing through Manistee...somewhere I lived and worked in 1978. Upon recommendation from a gal at a local antiques store, we stopped in the Boathouse for a late sunday afternoon lunch. My friend ordered the special...a BLT wrap...and I had a wonderful salad... read more

Extremely tasty grilled turkey and goat cheese sandwich and lobster bisque soup while overlooking the Manistee River - a very pleasant and enjoyable lunch, indeed. Two weeks earlier both my wife and son had what they considered to be the best tasting Reuben they have ever had; the corned beef was shredded. We are visitors to the Manistee area and... More

I live and work in the area. The staff of this restaurant are trying very hard to turn those frowns upside down. As for other reviews giving negative feedback, their complaints are not unheard. The Valentine's Day special I ordered started with an appetizer of shrimp cocktail that was served in a lovely martini glass. The shrimp was perfectly cooked... More

My party of four had mixed feelings on this place. As others have noted, it has a very drab exterior, but it is beautiful inside with a great view. I am here in October so there are no boats in the slips outside. The dockside eating area has been winterized, but we could image how nice It would look in... More

This is a great little cafe/bar that on a nice day has a fabulous outlook over the river. Manistee is a nice little town to walk around after lunch. Staff are very friendly and the food was also very good. Weather permitting try and get a table on the front outside patio overlooking the river

Don't be put off by the dusty and quite drab exterior. Once inside the decor is fine. There is a variety of seating- inside and out and the window seats and deck overlook the river. Service was good. Specials and a good range of dinner options- all well priced. We had surf and turf. Our steaks were good- if you... More

Had to beg for a second beer, rare hamburger was medium well and ran out of ketchup. The only time the wait staff was attentive was handling the bill. Nice location but not worth it.

Although the outside of this restaurant may appear to be a bit "dated" looking, inside has an enclosed porch area, overlooking the channel to Lake Michigan. The view is spectacular! We were started off with a "locally crafted beer, the "CEO Stout"; simply delicious! My selection was the Coronado Burger, while my wife had the French Onion soup. The entire... More

Food was just OK, but you do get to view all the activity on the Manistee River below you. They need to clean up the place. The umbrellas really needed a good cleaning.
