Excellent date spot

I took a first date to Boodles a few weeks ago, and the experience was great. The atmosphere inside is a bit loud, but also very intimate and classy. Their claim is where East meets West. It's true, very convenient on the SE Corner of 11 Mile and I-75 service drive. The food is good and fair portions. Drinks are good pours too. I like the wait staff as they are warm and friendly. Great bar area too.

Been here many times.Liked it so much that I made a reservation for six of us at least three weeks in advance. Wanted to celebrate a brother's special birthday. Got there Sat. night right on time. Was told, there was no tables available and there wouldn't be that night. Also, was told they didn't even have my name on a... More

Often a bday spot for me or my family. The ambience is effortless and just cool. I'm glad it's not "redcoat tavern" busy, because it very well could be. But i feel like a VIP everytime i'm there. Perfect for bdays or first dates.

There’s not a lot of places you can go to enjoy a vintage dining experience. As the forties moved to the fifties, table side preparation was all the rage in chic restaurants like Delmonico’s and Steak Diane was the signature dish presented. Thinly sliced filet mignon with a sauce made from seasoned pan juice and then flambéed, Steak Diane makes... More

This is a fantastic place to dine. Friday and Saturday nights they have a one man band which along with the delicious food and super friendly staff. The owner goes around to talk to the patrons. It is warm and welcoming to dine; even some couples get up and dance. I love it here. The blackened white fish is the... More

nice restaurant--could use a little updating--we stopped in for happy hour which is from 4-6--$1.75 beer & cheaper prices on wine & some liquor--no reduced appetizer prices--at 4:30 they brought out some free pizza & potato skins which was lovely--ashley was our sweet bartender--prices are on the high side--I see they are now starting to give out coupons & offer... For the money, this place really needs an update. The bathrooms are disgusting...I've seen cleaner bathrooms at gas stations. The food was marginal, but so expensive. I had Filet Oscar. The steak was good and cooked to order, but the bearnaise was actually hollandaise, and they placed it under the salamander and the sauce cooked -- like having scrambled eggs... More

Because I occasionally meet my friend in Royal Oak for a movie/dinner, I have focused too much on restaurants there. This time I remembered Boodles, far enough from RO's madding crowds. What a wonderful dining experience, which I had neglected way too long. No open warehouse makeover. Dark wood paneling and carpeting in a smaller, cozy space that allows for intimate... More
